103 pts vs 94 pts. REGULAR SEASON only.

And Price was not superstar Price this year regardless of his reputation nomination for the Vezna this year.

Price, purely speculative here, looked abnormally bad for a stretch leading up to Therrien's firing. My speculation based off of how strong he rebounded was he gave up on Coaching staff/ MT

What does international tournaments have to do with Habs in the playoffs?

Really? Bigger stage. Bigger expectations. Tougher competition, tighter checking high-pressure situations. Something Max has repeatedly shown not being able to handle.

This year, he had Radulov feeding him plenty and still couldn't make anything of it. I don't doubt his regular season numbers would see a bump with a better C than Danault but I'd expect the same disappearing act as the playoffs start, as all the other years.

But it's got nothing to do with the Habs...

Its got to do with Pacioretty as a player.

Pacioretty's performance in the playoffs with the Habs speaks for itself...who cares about his time with the American team in various tournaments playing with players he's never played with before and being coached by coaches he's never played for.

It's fair to criticize his game in the playoffs, there's some merit to it...

I just don't care about his performance with Team USA...has no effect on the Habs whatsoever

he can speak for himself...we're good

Thanks

So can I. Public forum. You want to talk only to him, send him a PM. Pacioretty having no success with more quality players shows that it isn't necessarily his linemates the problem. But is that the only measure of success? Of course not.

I don't know about you guys but with our strength on the wing I'd be pretty happy with this down this middle

Drouin

Hanzal

Danault

I think that Bergevin's gamble on the expansion draft likely worked out. His plan (most likely) was to have Vegas pick Emelin or Plekanec, and that's what happened. It's what he wanted to do -- to liberate cap space. He and a few other GMs (e.g. David Poile) have succeeded in using the expansion draft for that purpose.

It now remains to be seen how that cap space is used. If Radulov and Galchenyuk are both kept then things will have worked out. Things are even better if Michael Del Zotto (for example) is added to the Habs.

I agree he tanked to get MT fired. In the end that was still his play on the ice. Price had a hot start and good finish but didn't carry the team like in 2015.

If they tried Galchenyuk at center, I'm pretty sure they will try Drouin at center. He has all the tools you can ask to become a very good one.

...on a slightly smaller frame than Chucky, isn't he? Hey I have a hard time imagining a Getzlaf-Drouin playoff matchup but that's an extreme case and I think Jo will do reasonably well, which means not very good in October but progressive improvements thereafter. Watch him play C in the preseason and have multi point games, HF Habs will be all :yo:

Except the tool they blame Galchenyuk exactly for not having. A good enough defensive game.

Phil Kessel was in the same situation before. Pacioretty's problem is his C on the sweater. People are asking more from him since he's the captain, with reason.

Disagree. Phil Kessel was always a gamer in the POs. Every single POs he's been about a ppg guy. That's not at all the same with Patches who is half of that, literally, he averages out to .5ppg.
