I agree. Yes, the Leafs played extremely poorly and everything went Tampa's way, but they aren't going to forget Tampa's disrespect and all the nonsense. Simmonds and Clifford were typically in the middle of it, but Tavares also scrummed it up and was chirping, Spezza was beaking, Kerfoot wasn't taking any guff.

I don't know if it'll result in a series win, but if the Leafs needed any more reason to play hard against those pricks that loss will be fine motivation.

Lol that's easy when you decide whether a game was a statement game or not after the fact depending whether they won or lost. Beat Florida? Not a statement game, Florida was missing Ekblad and already clinched. Lose to TBL? 100% statement game, doesn't matter that we were missing Matthews.

Have some pride man, every game should be meaningful or why bother keeping score……or better yet why bother paying them

Unfortunately I think they can easily forget Tampa’s disrespect. They have had so many humiliation’s over the last little while and it still keeps happening

They hit and hit hard and hit often. They are also big (I think there is only one defence man under 6ft 3inches) and some are mean (Kucherov, Sergachev) almost all have attitude (Paul, Foote, Cirella, Perry,) others are just big (Bogosian, Cernak).

Definitely a playoff roster. It will be very difficult to beat that seasoned, grizzled lot. It could well spell the demise of Dubas with another first round exit-perhaps unfair as he has built a very good team but I bet the veteran GMs who know what it takes to build a playoff roster will have the last laugh.

I hope not of course

You can lose this game and still make a statement. Statement doesn't mean you have to win

We made a lot of mistakes, we gave up on lot of plays, we didn't compete. That's what I am talking about. Are we going to rebound and take control of the game, are we going to show that loss and more importantly that performance was unnacceptable

Everything is a habit. So they better get in the habit of rebouding from a poor performance. It's not something you can just turn on come playoff time

We've had plenty of physical structured games in response to an ugly blowout several times this year alone, I don't know how you haven't seen a single one in 15 years.

Which game do you remember in 15 years that after losing horrible game, getting physically out played we made a statement game

Did we win games, like the one after Tavares got humiliated in Isles? yes... but we didn't make a statement. We just took the win, like we always do

After every important game where this team needed to show up in last 15 years, we have folded like cheap lawn chairs
 
Mother of God... we got Skilliter again tonight.

At least the league knows not to ice this clown in the playoffs. 578 reg season games and only 4 in the playoffs. Joke of a ref

In almost 1000 games across Fletcher, Burke, Nonis, Lou, and Dubas with completely different rosters, coaches, and team philosophies we have not once "shown up" after an important game?

That's kinda crazy, we should crowdfund a specialist to check the water at the arena, there's gotta be something in it. Maybe some sort of curse?
