Hurricanes reached the 100 point threshold, they have home ice locked up for the first round, maybe letting their foot off the gas a little? I would like another strong goalie performance against a good defensive team.

Will be interesting to see who gets in on defense. I assume Rielly comes back in.

- 3 weeks until playoffs
- 1 more week until O’Reilly’s “4 week” recovery from his broken finger.
- 2 weeks (at most) until Knies gets a look.
(sounds like a BNL song)
As mentioned by someone above the Canes are in a dog fight with the Devils for the division lead and avoiding the Rangers in the first round. So hopefully there will be no letting off of the gas just yet.

Here’s to a good game not marred by any officiating snafus.

Holl has been really good since we added the new guys, it lit a fire under his ass. I wouldn't be too against Holl for Lily, but Schenn needs to play.
I have long held to the belief that to be a serious playoff contender, a team needs a physically big defence (don’t have to be good fighters or mean), just 200 pounds, 6ft 2inches at least.

I don’t miss Sandin, even if he puts up huge numbers in Washington, just got tired of watching him getting mauled by opponents. Same goes for Rielly and especially Lilligren.

I think that’s a big reason behind Holl favoured by Keefe, he’s big (6ft 4inches), an anomaly to all the brittle smallish players Dubas has supplied him with.

Look back at the St. louis Blues when they won, the Montreal Canadians the year they went to the finals. Look at Tampa Bay, Boston, their defenceman are big.

I read that Boston and Tampa are a couple of the heaviest teams.

:sarcasm:

He's been skating for sometime now, just not risking injuring his finger. He'll be in game shape come playoff time, he might return before playoffs but they're just being cautious with him.

Somehow I forgot we even had him on the team  gonna be a huge boost once he's added to the lineup.
Heard he’d be back for last four or five games.

Holl is the opposite of a big physical dman. He may be tall but he is soft physically and mentally.

With Tampa losing in regulation today, we're now 5 points up with 3 games in hand and they have only 7-8 games left.

Leafs win tonight and tomorrow and they could all but clinch home ice advantage in the 1st round.

Tampa lost again.
The Leafs have to win tonight and tomorrow to REALLY put a strangle hold on 2nd place.

Hell. If they do and the Panthers win tonight, the Panthers will be closer to 3rd then Tampa will be to 2nd.

The race is already all but over

Tampa needs to win out and we need to go .500 just to tie in points. That's likely not happening
