So for 50-ish games he’s playing good to great, then all of the sudden he falls off a cliff and is making mistakes he hasn’t made all year. You think Keefe and all the player movement contributed nothing to that?

End of the day, based on recent play Liljegren should and likely will sit when the playoffs start, but I contend that that would never have been the case had Keefe just left him alone and let him do his thing.

Yes sometimes players just hit a ditch and there is no reason for it. Maybe all the increased depth and competition has had him squeezing the stick to tight and making mistakes he wasn't making earlier? We have no idea. I would like to give Liljegren more benefit of the doubt though then thinking the coach being a bit harder on him sent his season downhill.

Or maybe Liljegren has just hit a bump in the road in an otherwise good season? Not everything is a sky is falling or a failure on someone. He was playing well....and now he isn't. It is a pretty common thing especially with young defensemen.

I think people forget that Liljegren has played only 133 games in his career. Not even two full seasons, so these kinds of bumps will still happen. He hasn't hit many so far due to his great play

Also, he went from playing with either Sandin or Gio to now a revolving door of partners due to the 11/7 setup. Some stability would be beneficial for everyone but especially for him

Scratched him for two games after the TDL and had a talk with him. Who knows what that entailed. If the tone was anything like what he said in the media I could believe it frustrated Liljegren and has him gripping his stick tighter in fear of making mistakes.

Yeah I think he was hurt a bit.
Personally I don’t see anything there.

The problem with Tavares cap hit is we should have had a cup by now so no longer care he's on the wrong end of his prime at that cap hit.

No doubt I only drink now so I don't know what's out there that way now. That's good though. Good to know where you are getting it these days forsure.

Even though it was weaker back in the day it was nice when you just knew a person who had some decent stuff and it cost nothing and you could always find it on a weekend lol.

His points totals are identical to his Islander years, you should direct the contract dissatisfaction at the mgmt. who expected more from him? What you see is what we got.
