That is a made up condition.if you think the leafs should be appreciate then any idea you get is completely asinine.
I hope so too.I wish this was like Reddit, would have given you an award or whatever it's called for being optimistic for 21-22 after this year. It's the season I'm most dreading seeing since 2014-2015 which I knew was going to be bad with the team trying to compete again.
I really hope whatever your expectations in terms of changes occurs and this team rises from the humiliation and defeat they've suffered and goes on to win next year.
Habs fan; don't. want to intrude but I watched a lot of leaf games this season against other teams and despite myself I really enjoy watching leafs games compared to other Canadian markets. Imagine having to watch that bore brand Calgary play. I would watch leafs talent over McDavid revving up thru 3 zones any day. Every team studied the crap outta the leafs PP and the leafs proved just as effective 5v5 all season. I wouldn't let bad luck distort reality. Losing Tavares, Foligno and Muzzin seem like bigger factors than anything. Leafs lost a battle of attrition don't ask to blow it all up ffs. There were some really nice adds to your team this year. Add a Seth Jones type, make a trade, dump some salary, and stay in a position to take advantage of good luck when it hopefully arrives.
I do appreciate the season the Leafs gave us to watch.
I am disappointed in that happened in the playoffs and I have a lot of opinions on that. I don’t believe they have learned their lesson yet and we may face more disappointment, and I’ll express that to anyone who will read or listen. Just not in this thread.
Campbell was great this year.
Our D structure was vastly better than it has been.
You do realize that we’re going back to the regular conference alignments, right?I understand some of the emotions but seriously touch grass, the team made big strides and i'm excited for next season to come.
I appreciate not having to be concerned with the draft lottery.
Read the room man!Ok, so it didn't end according to plan, however...
The Leafs were great this season, and provided a ton of excitement and entertainment.
Matthews won the Rocket.
Marner at a 100 point pace.
Defence improved dramatically.
Several new faces (Bogosian, Brodie, Simmonds, Galchenyuk) made significant contributions.
Great performances by Spezza turning back the clock, Nylander improved and second-half Tavares was great.
Campbell getting a chance to play and breaking an NHL record for consecutive wins to start the season.
Lots to like here.
Just saying Leafs, during the pandemic doldrums, you guys were always good for a pump up.
I appreciate you.
I appreciated all Leafsnation for sticking together.
Also I am glad some of the boys took thmselves out of the series in order to give those who works with the Leafs an early summer vacation.
Most of all I appreciated Leafs for not going far b/c it allows me to cut my sports package and save me a few bucks.
I’m doing the same.We already cut our tv package down a few months ago.I just watch games if they are on CBC or NBC.
There were some improvements especially on D but that doesn't sugarcoat the epic 3 game collapse in the playoffs.. and it was a collapse led by Marner and Matthews. The supposed leadership on this team.
Previous leaf playoff collapses had other mitigating factors like a lack of veteran leadership, poor defensive coverage or poor goaltending at times. All of those issues were addressed this season. The one and only reason for the collapse is that the Danault line outplayed the Matthews line over the final 3 games by a wide margin. So unless you can sell me on Danault being the second coming of super mario then I'm not listening to the drivel about what a great regular season they had.
I’m doing the same.
I’m from the states and have ordered DirectTV’s center ice package for over ten years to watch every leaf game.
Not next year, I’ll watch whenever they’re on NHL Network or NBC.
Yup. The loss to MTL, the loss to CBJ, missing the playoffs altogether...differing levels of yikes! You have to have a 1st Rd draft pick to be in the lottery.![]()
