I've lived through the dog days. I appreciate the talent we have. I just don't appreciate the effort we have seen or the maturity to stick up for yourself and the assertiveness.

I hate how hard it is to like these guys and root for them.

Ok, so it didn't end according to plan, however...

The Leafs were great this season, and provided a ton of excitement and entertainment.

Matthews won the Rocket.
Marner at a 100 point pace.
Defence improved dramatically.
Several new faces (Bogosian, Brodie, Simmonds, Galchenyuk) made significant contributions.
Great performances by Spezza turning back the clock, Nylander improved and second-half Tavares was great.
Campbell getting a chance to play and breaking an NHL record for consecutive wins to start the season.

Lots to like here.

Just saying Leafs, during the pandemic doldrums, you guys were always good for a pump up.

I appreciate you.
Great idea for an actual fan thread

I appreciate that Nylander did learn from playoffs past and made an effort. Too bad the same cannot be said of Matthews and Marner.

Almost impossible.
I liked cheering for Colton orr and Frazer Mclaren more.

There is nothing to be excited about. This team is not a contender and there is very little to improve the roster because of the limited cap space. It's painfully obvious the core needs a shake up or else I just don't see the Leafs wining a playoff series next year or in 2023 or 2024. Sorry. But hey, enjoy the regular season accolades.

unfortunately we'll be back in our regular division next year so there won't even be any regular season accolades to look forward too . lol

This is a troll thread that should not be posted.

It's a thinly veiled troll thread, not really hard to see that.

I can't think of much to appreciate right now. I will show Jack Campbell some appreciation for playing his heart out every game. He did let in a softy in game 7, but it's not his fault the team couldn't muster any offense.

I appreciate Jason Spezza for being the heart and soul of this team.

I appreciate Nylander for making his detractors continue to look stupid year after year.

I don't appreciate our top line being so god awful in the post-season. Who caress about individual trophies? He scored 41 goals, cool, it's not he hasn't scored 40 before. He didn't score when it matters. Along with Marner and Hyman, our top line choked.

Marner sucks every post-season, at least Matthews has had a few decent outings. I really hope they separate him from Marner next season.

Lastly, I appreciate that Toronto finds new and exciting ways to choke in elimination games. 2 on 0 in OT in game 5, dominate OT in game 6, one giveaway and it's in the back of our net, game 7, play like garbage the entire game and get dominated by a dumpster fire AHL team.

I can't wait until we get back to 82 games in our normal division. At least Montreal will be back down at the bottom of the standings where they belong.

Habs fan; don't. want to intrude but I watched a lot of leaf games this season against other teams and despite myself I really enjoy watching leafs games compared to other Canadian markets. Imagine having to watch that bore brand Calgary play. I would watch leafs talent over McDavid revving up thru 3 zones any day. Every team studied the crap outta the leafs PP and the leafs proved just as effective 5v5 all season. I wouldn't let bad luck distort reality. Losing Tavares, Foligno and Muzzin seem like bigger factors than anything. Leafs lost a battle of attrition don't ask to blow it all up ffs. There were some really nice adds to your team this year. Add a Seth Jones type, make a trade, dump some salary, and stay in a position to take advantage of good luck when it hopefully arrives.

of course a Habs fan wants us to stay the course with this choking core never get out of the 1st round ever

Wouldn't be surprised if we extend the 17-year series win drought to 50+ years.

Should be fun losing to the Bruins next year in round 1.

This has got be a joke. God I miss the days when we had guys like Tucker, Roberts, Domi be part of our depth. They brought playoff hockey with them. I also miss Cujo and Belfour. AmIAloneInThis?
