We saw the org be very aggressive with Manoah so IMO if Tiedemann continues to crush AA/AAA and there's an opening in the rotation in the summer then we'll see him. Otherwise he's a perfect candidate to be a lefty out of the bullpen late in the season.

Outside of innings there's no reason to coddle him if he's good enough, especially with where we are in the contention window.

I don't expect to see Ricky in the rotation this year. Sure if he goes ham in AA for a month and then does the same in AAA you pretty much cannot keep him down. Outside of that I expect they'll go with White, Thompson, Francis, maybe even Zulueta first. He only threw 80 innings last year so I expect this years cap to be around 120. He's pitching every 6 days this year instead of 7. Even if we assume he goes 3 today and then 3 starts of 4 innings before getting to 5 and staying there all year that's 118 by September 5th. I absolutely think we might see him in the pen if we get to a spot in August if we need a lefty pen arm. Which we probably will. But outside of him basically busting the door down with a 15 K/9 and sub 2 ERA in AAA over a larger sample, or some serious rotation issues in the majors I think we're looking at a pen transition in August if we need him there and then probably looking at him in the rotation early next year

I rather take it easy with Ricky unless we absolutely need him. Maybe in a perfect world he gets some reps as a lefty reliever late in the season.

Jays have;

Manoah
Gausman
Bassitt
Kikuchi
Berrios
Ryu mid season
White

Francis
Thompson

Then next season he pushes for a top 5 spot and is your 6th pitcher in AAA if he doesnt win a spot.

Toman isn't top 10 on fangraphs? That surprises me. His K rate has been way too high but he's produced partially on the back of an inflated BABIP. 12% walk rate, 121 wRC+. Beltre was on a tear before getting hurt but again mostly BABIP luck at a .667 clip. Pinto has been walking a ton, but a 33 K% as well. Good numbers inflated by a .500 BABIP. Britton's striking out way too much, and De Castro's not walking enough but they're both close enough to average with low BABIP's

3 guys that I'm liking that aren't just small sample BABIP induced are Palmegiani 151 wRC+ with a 22 BB% and .381 BABIP. Doughty's been fine at 110 wRC+ and a normal BABIP, and Robertis somehow has a 92 wRC+ with a .176 BABIP. Walked in 8 of his 32 plate apperances.

Shoutout to Phil Clarke who somehow must be making the weakest contact of all time to have a 21% walk rate, 4% K rate and just a 41 wRC+ off the back of .063 BABIP.

Palmegiani and Doughty are doing well but also not featuring a lot (or any) power. Same goes for guys like Toman, Gabriel Martinez, Pinto, and Beltre. Devonte Brown and Michael Turconi are two sleepers I had going into the season and they're both off to good starts (though idk if Brown is hurt or just missed the last game or two).

Bookend D.Brown's. Devonte has the best wRC+, Dasan the worst. Not the start he was looking for.

Clarification needed based on the GDT discussion: is Julio Rodriguez allowed to have fun because he won a playoff game? Or is he not allowed to have fun because he's never won a real playoff game?

couple of walks, hit batter and a run given up on a sac fly. 2 K's though for Ricky.

Orelvis just tied it with a HR

Ricky done after 3. 5 K, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 1 hit, 1 run. 52 pitches. He got better after the shaky 1st

nevermind he's not done. My milb gameday seems to be wonky. Ricky is back out for the 4th

2 more outs, 1 of them with a K, and now he's done

The real killer is that the Mariners gave up 5 runs and lost the game.

God my heart goes out to Oakland fans today. What a shitty ending to the A's history.

Nobody should have to go through relocation. I was only 3 when the Jets initially left but even at that age you knew something was wrong because of all the sad adults.

I'm not sure Vegas is the right play. The Knights draw because a combo of being good and the fact they got there first and became an honest to god, actual "home" team for the city. The Raiders moved there (despite the city not entirely wanting them) and after a year their attendance numbers tanked. Finished 3rd to last in the NFL last year. That building is comprised of mostly visiting fans/tourists with no ties to the silver and black.

I don't see how the A's avoid the same fate. Especially if Fisher continues to pull the Loria playbook and rake in money off a new publicly funded stadium while putting dogshit on the field. The Raiders are also an easier sell given you only need to put asses in seats for 8-10 games as opposed to 81.

Is it just me or are pitchers are being struck with comebackers at a ridiculously high rate this year? Seems like it happens everyday....or maybe it's only me.

Maeda just took a 111 mph ball right off the ankle. He somehow still got the out at first before going down in pain. Left the game.

The real kicker is that the owner of the Rams did not want the Raiders in Los Angeles. The Raiders fans will out number the Rams fans by a ton so they don’t want that bad press.

Raiders have been meh since being in Vegas, I’m still waiting for them to be good again.

Hit the nail on the head though. Owner gets a sweet stadium deal + deal on the surrounding real estate development and doesn't even have to worry about putting out a competitive team since there's no fanbase in Vegas anyways. Mega dub for him.

It's crazy that the A's only outdrew their AAA team in Las Vegas by about 3,000 per game.

I have no idea what to expect, but the fact that a AAA team was able to draw nearly 7,000 fans in Vegas seems to bode well for what a major league team can do, doesn't it?

Macko's 1st start for Vancouver: 4 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K.
Not bad at all. I'm a little surprised they didn't have him start in AA, though I guess it's reasonable since he hasn't pitched since last May. Hopefully it's just a few starts before he moves up to New Hampshire.

Finally. He was scheduled to debut twice before and it got postponed due weather. Couple infield singles in the first inning leading to a run as well so perhaps better than the 4 hit, 2 run line.

Another stellar start for Rafael Sanchez in Dunedin. 7 innings, 5 K, 0 BB, 4 hits, 0 runs

Zulueta about to start in game 2 for Buffalo
