Old Trafford Task Force completes feasibility work

The capacities of a regenerated or new-build stadium are revealed in the latest update, as well as insights from key figures.

The vision is for Manchester United to develop a world-class stadium, acting as a catalyst for wider regeneration of a re-energised Trafford Park, which initial findings suggest could deliver an extra £7.3bn gross value added to the UK economy and more than 90,000 employment opportunities*.

The Task Force determined that a redeveloped Old Trafford could increase the capacity of the existing stadium to 87,000, whereas a new-build stadium would allow capacity to reach 100,000. Both options remain under consideration, with the club set to decide on the preferred approach ahead of the summer.

No, not broke at all. It's just those artificial PL financial rules. As almost all the clubs seem to struggle with them, owners would rather not have them, I don't really understand why they hold on to them. It's their own league after all, they can change the rules.

Give Sir Jim a chance I guess. But the middle east model has proven to work. Qatar was going to pay the 750 million in debt off on the first day. It was a mistake not to sell to them

The problem with the Qatar bid was that they couldn't prove they had the funds (and some said the buyer couldn't show up to prove he even existed :laugh: ) and the Glazers unwillingness to sell the whole club outright. Sir Jim buying the club in small shares slower was a better fit to them because those shares can become more valuable over time.

Do you figure that Sir Jim is slowly trying to push the Glazers out ? Maybe he can do a hostile bid for the remaining shares.

The interest payments are around 60 million per year. And this is what is forcing the team to sell players.

If Sir Jim has no plan to get the debt off the books or no plan to push the Glazers out then it will be status quo ante. Which is not good.

A bid from the Persian Gulf is still the best solution.
 
Amorim went postal on the team in the dressing room as everyone knows. This is a guy who built his career on being calm and collected and keeping the emotions out of it.

There needs to be changes to the roster soon. If there isn't, the Ten Hag vibes will slowly start to consume Amorim. He wanted the job in the summer presumably for this reason. But they told him it was now or never

It's no secret he attempts to become the majority owner, exact time table isn't known though. I think he made it clear.

No, the interest payments do not count towards the PSR in a way that would force United to sell players.

I didn't mean that they counted against the PSR. The interest is an expense and the books have to balance.
 
The Mercedes F1 car showed up at the O2 launch event and for the first time in 6 years, there's no Ineos decals on the air box. Just a couple small ones around the periphery of the car.

The elephant in the room is the Ukraine war and the sanctions on Russia and their effect on the chemicals industry in Europe. It is mind numbing that this billionaire thinks cutting concessions staff at Manchester United is going to save the long term viability of his chemicals empire. He is in denial.

The tension between Russia and the west is here to stay. This is not going to be resolved anytime soon. He really should be selling the Mercedes F1 stake, pulling his sponsorships and selling the Man United stake. Most likely he will be forced to eventually as stated in the articles about this.

The situation is further complicated by Ratcliffe’s costly sporting ventures, including Manchester United and New Zealand Rugby, which are experiencing their own financial difficulties. Job cuts and reduced sponsorships suggest broader financial tightening, raising concerns about Ineos’ long-term stability. If economic conditions do not improve, Ratcliffe’s empire may struggle to sustain its commitments, potentially leading to further restructuring or asset sales.

Has Jussi defended Man Divided cutting back the scouting network? I guess that means we might be seeing the chance for more Antony buys, right? Or does this move protect them from it? :laugh:
