I can respect this. I feel super burned, yet it was the post he torched, not the poster.Says who?
Nobody thinks the team is making a cup run.
Speaking of fluff…….
Take note, children.

Ya, my post was based on initial reports that were incorrect. Please ignore it.Well Provorov wasn't traded for nothing. He was traded for Grens (who was talked about here as a trade target), Walker (worth a mid round pick at the deadline), this year's 1st (22nd), and two future 2nds. They had to take Cal Petersen's contract of course. It's a good return if you don't view Provorov as a 1st pairing Dman (which most don't).
A simpler way to look at it is that Columbus gave up Kings' 1st and a 2nd round pick for a salary retained Provorov.
He compared Hronek to Myers too so...Provorov is so much better you can't be serious.
I predict that the tune on this changes. So they aren’t shopping Boeser? Fire these guys out of a cannon and into the sun.

I think Boeser's an interesting case-study.
Sports fans tend to have a lot of empathy for sad stories (like his father).
Sports fans also tend to have a binary and unempathetic view towards players who don't work hard enough to be in shape.
I think Boeser is probably the union of those two things. He was distracted and distraught and showed up to camp in poor shape, with a surgically repaired wrist that tore itself open, and never caught up to the game.
I predict we see a different Boeser this year.
He had hand surgery, which he sustained on an injury of day 3 of training camp...That has nothing to do with coming into camp with the wrong attitude. That's optimistic and I hope you're right. To me it looks more and more like we keep making excuses for a player that's old enough to have his head straight before a season starts.
Last year seemed like a perfect case for Boeser to re-find his game. His father had passed and he had the opportunity to come to camp re-invigorated and to play FOR his dad. But he was bad all year. Then he had another emotional end of year press conference about how his head wasn't in the right place but that he's taken responsibility for how he was feeling. I get everyone grieves different and it's a special situation but maybe it's more likely we always have an excuse for Boeser - that's the trend to me. An emotional player with too many on's and off's.

The trend is, is that he has injured himself at the beginning of every season of his career , except one.
It wasnt a good year for Boeser, but he still managed to put up 55 points, which aint half bad.
He still had unresolved grieving issues last season, but I agree with you...after awhile it comes down to results...He literally played himself off the team, and onto the trade block. He specifically stated he didn't have his head in the right place in the year end presser. There's a 'rehab and getting to game speed' grace period that I totally understand but what you're showing me is more excuses made for Boeser. He wasn't a reliable option last year and in the scenario where he plays a fully healthy year (unlikely), I just don't believe he'll have his game straightened out. Hope I'm wrong.
They already created all the cap space we will ever need when they traded Dickinson. So they aren’t shopping Boeser? Fire these guys out of a cannon and into the sun.
Who knows what they are doing? Do you expect them to give the fans and media a heads up before they make moves? So they aren’t shopping Boeser? Fire these guys out of a cannon and into the sun.
They are shopping him. Zero interested buyers so they gave up asking around. So they aren’t shopping Boeser? Fire these guys out of a cannon and into the sun.
They're not shopping him now...but the conversation would have been Allvin going " What assets do I have to give you to take on Boesers contract...or maybe you have some inefficient garbage contracts you're trying to get rid of..?"They are shopping him. Zero interested buyers so they gave up asking around.
They do not expect to be able to move Boeser with how low his value currently is. It wont look like they failed to do so if they say they are not attempting to do so. I think they are quite meticulous with what information they say.Who knows what they are doing? Do you expect them to give the fans and media a heads up before they make moves?

No argument from me there.I think there's a difference between demanding results and giving Boeser excuses. We could "make excuses" for Boeser while demanding results.
I think the "excuses" for Boeser is legitimate and should not be downplayed. The previous season his father's declining health was obviously on his mind. After his father's death he's obviously grieving. There was a possibility that he would put all his focus on hockey but that's not a given and probably unhealthy.
With that said, this is a business and it can be cut throat. The Canucks are under no obligation to continue giving Boeser opportunities.
Leaving aside the obvious guys like Pettersson and Hughes, there are only three players who would be on the 'positive' side of the ledger if the Canucks decided to deal them.Who do fans think management is going to trade First to clear cap space ?
My money is on Garland
Imo,Boeser better be on his dam skates right now getting into the best shape of his life. The only time I seen him on the ice last season, was when he was trying to get off it.As a fan,I'm not counting on him anymore. It is totally time to move on with him.He is to soft a player, and it's one injury after another. So they aren’t shopping Boeser? Fire these guys out of a cannon and into the sun.

In other words, if they traded these three guys, they'd actually be able to make a 'hockey trade' instead of eating salary; coughing up draft picks; or taking back another bad contract.
Those guys are Miller, Garland and Demko. That's about it. I suppose Mikheyev or Beauvillier might net you a draft pick or two if you could find somebody willing to take on their contracts. But you're not getting any useful assets back who could help immediately.
As for the rest of the Canucks--forget about it.
