He was like that before retirement. That's part of the issue.

Comes from the top. Gary Bettman on the playoff seeding format:

"We think the format we have works extremely well ... unless you're a Leafs fan."

This was after the 3rd straight playoff loss to Boston under the current format. That's exactly how much respect the Leafs have in this league.

Fine. Lets see how they feel after the Leafs ass pound the Bruins and Lightning for a few years. Get us a D Mr Tree. Lets take the next step.

Stop revenue sharing?
LOL!

The league doesn’t answer to the Leafs.
Who do they play if the league doesn’t supply n opponent?

Just saying, if the Toronto Maple Leafs left the NHL tomorrow and started their own league, I would watch that league and I'm not bullshitting. And I bet it would break the NHL. A handful of teams in this league either know how much power they actually have and ignore it over handshake deals or are oblivious to how much power they really have. I would suggest the Leafs are the most powerful organization in the entire hockey world and they still let themselves be treated like doormats.

They'd instantly find flaws in the playoff format :)

So true.
If the Leafs starts a league next season. I am 100% sure all Canadian Teams will join them plus adding another team in Quebec City. Rangers, Bruins, Islanders, Pens, Flyers, Wings, Sabres, Hawks, and Krakens will most likely jump ship due to money and location.
It will become a North Vs South thing, like the US Civil War. For real, I don't see teams won't join the likes of Leafs and other Canadian teams in a different league due to money.

The real question is, what's left of the league if the Original 6 say "f*** it, we're tired of paying for other teams to win, we're out"?

I’m pretty sure it’s impossible. There are binding contracts including TV rights, sponsorships, Ads revenues, naming rights, official sponsors and millions things more. In fact, all of these entities would sue Leafs and not the opposite. And again, Leafs have contracts with each and every player, coach, etc. and without games revenue and all other revenue streams Leafs could go bankrupt in an instant.
So. I’m sure, you guys say things without thinking them through. It’s damn hard to win a Cup in this league. I don’t think Leafs D is Cup calibre and there are better goalies in this league too. At the end of the day, refs would be last of our worries.
They lost to Florida last year on missed call, but no one forced them to be 1-3 in the series. Right? They put themselves in bad spot and then lost on blown call.

….

If it was a major concussion he wouldn't have been walking around the dressing room after the game. Hopefully it's a short term thing.
That's not necessarily true either. Symptoms can worsen and or develop much later.

Boosh is a tough guy so let's hope but yeah, again, concussions suck.

That Ranger turd needs to be dropped.

i don't think it was a particularly dirty hit. The guy throwing the check is freakishly big. I think that is the biggest part in this.

You know concussions don't just magically go away right?
Even if he recovers, one bump could knock him out again and it doesn't even have to be major.

Concussions are unpredictable.
I get it, but at the same time if the guy doesn't have a history of concussions it's likely that he will recover just fine.

I don't know, but obviously multiple concussions would be a concern.

He launched himself on top of charging like a bull from the middle of the ice. You can actually see him target him. Charge full speed and then launch off the ice.
Target? Our big hit guys "target" people all the time.

It's a crushing hit no doubt from a f***ing huge guy, but there's a lot of grey area in that play.

When stuff like this happens i always think, what if it was the other way around and the teams were reversed. I don't think most of us would have as much of a problem with it.

Same thing with the Riley suspension hit. People were up in arms over the suspension, but i thought it was pretty fair. Imagine if someone from another team did that to nick robertson or something.

Not much grey area when a 6’8.5 player leaves his feet after charging like that. Charging, boarding, leaving your feet, hit to the head by the biggest goon in the league.
