I actually thought they keep some of the proceeds directly. If you look at a lot of charities, large portions of the money they collect goes towards “overhead” - I recall there were a few community foundations in the NHL specifically that took huge cuts and only donated small amounts. Blanking on which teams those were but there was reporting done on it IIRC.Others have covered but will add. This is pretty standard Corporate Social Responsibility strategy to communicate your philanthropic work giving back to the community in which you do business. It enhances reputation, helps with employee recruitment and retention, and other business value.
OEG is a big business that very effectively leverages its relationship with the public to get a highly subsidized office aka rink built. The 50-50 draw is a great way they don't necessarily give back directly but leverages customers to give with the 50% of pooled money to the winner. Oilers like other corporate foundations gain reputational value of donating the other half of customer 50/50 dollars to a variety of their charitable partners. Pretty impressive pools of money prized out through the generosity of the public buying 50-50 tickets.
Not sure why he's passing up prime scoring shots. Tbh this might be his worst offensive stretch of the season as crazy as that sounds.I want shooting McDavid back please
You must've had the same thought as me after he passed up that prime shooting chance. He's gotta shoot those.I want shooting McDavid back please
Why's fowler still on the ducks? They should be re building

I can lay down a twelve inch dirt snake once a year
DrinkI like to think at this time he is more worried about getting his teammates....elevated.
If we are CGY, we have 4 PP's already. They just ignore everything the Ducks are doing (mainly interference)
Probably pretty happy waking up every morning in California. 27-team NTC gives him some pretty good security for the next four years. Why's fowler still on the ducks? They should be re building
