Sven killing it in the AHL right now. 6 points in 4 games. High praises from the media

As good as Kassian was, he wasn't the best player on the ice. Not even close. That was Heat forward Sven Baertschi, who is becoming increasingly difficult to describe without using the phrase "jaw dropper."

He made Tanev look as silly as you'll ever see Tanev look, when he turned the experienced defence-man inside out, creating a spectacular scoring chance on Lack.

He was great last night in the game on TV. He is a special player that's for sure and has that ability to track the puck and come away with it more then anyone on the ice last night.

How is that a dive? Pretty clearly got pushed over by Bartschi.

Unless he lost an edge, it was a dive.

A guy Baertschi's size using one arm to push over (while focusing on the puck)a guy Kassians size is a stretch.

I don't think that discussion needs to be brought into this thread. Looks like he may have just caught an edge.

Look at Sven's right leg, with the angle there it's deceptive but there's a lot of power being used with that leg to push Kassian in the right direction.

Yeah, that was just an awkward mix of actions there that left Kassian in a tight spot, with his blade catching and Baertschi having a lot of leverage with his positioning. Not that Baertschi isn't strong for his size, but in any other circumstances that wouldn't happen to Kass.

This guy is SICK. He competes every game and plays bigger than his size.

Flames most untouchable player going forward.

It wasn't a slewfoot. Looks that way from that particular angle, but it wasn't.

It's funny how so many people are stating "diving" "slew foot" etc. This is a clip that was "slowed down". Beartschi was going full speed ahead, and suddenly Kassian grabbed him. He pushed him back, while both lost their balance, and Kassian fell. This all happened in a moment of 1 - 2 seconds... Do people realize how hard it is to slew foot a giant going top speed in 1 - 2 seconds? Kassian didn't dive. Baertschi didn't slew foot. The game is played on ice. People catch edges and fall.

Absolutely. Never been so excited about a Flames prospect before... You guys should have the same feelings in Rielly. I think you have a Kris Letang in the making.
