I liked the Yakupov slide after the OT winner. Nice to see emotion in hockey.

Was nice to see Ehlers respond to adversity by playing even better, being able to step up in game 7 also shows some character

Also, I have no idea what they put in the water in Shawinigan, but grown men throwing stuff at the Halifax bench is just pathetic. Same go to celebrating penalties taken against Ehlers. Get some class

That's playoffs hockey.

Halifax fans also threw stuff at the Shawinigan players.

Come on.....Hockey pucks????? The ones who throw pucks could easily be charged with intent to injure. It is NOT alright just because one idiot does it for the next to follow. Some people should grow up.

He is simply way 2 good for the Q.

He needs to play in the AHL or NHL stat.

I was just saying there's no need to include all Shawinigan fans. It was one idiot like you said.

There should be a rule to allow this IMO depending on games played in the CHL. I know CHL wants to keep their stars but some players are just better suited to move on.

Euros that played in the AHL this year is up to 4 now. Nylander, Pastrnak, Fiala and Kapenen.

Really an impressive run by Ehlers in the post-season. And it isn't like he's leaching on bad teams in the opening rounds of the playoffs. Shawinigan and Moncton had the 3rd and 4th best defence in the regular season.

Cupper, the Shawinigan goalie, finished with a .929 for the series, too. That's a save percentage you normally win a championship with.

20 points on 26 Halifax goals (77%).

McDavid: 18 points on 34 Erie goals (53%)
Marner: 16 points on 32 London goals (50%)

Ehlers is continuing a pretty impressive season in the Q.

I can't really see him back in Junior next year. He'll be too good for the Q next year.

Teams with more depth obviously don't just have one guy producing. So what's the point in comparing him to mcdavid in the regard? He's pretty much on pace with his regular season scoring.

The point is that Ehlers plays on a low-scoring team and has played against good defensive teams in the playoffs. He's also the main focus of opponents' defensive plans, so his production should be assessed in that light.

Offensive production in relation to your team's overall productivity is one reasonable parameter to use to assess offensive performance, don't you think?

Getting 4 points when your team scores 8 goals is not as important as getting 4 points when your team scores 5.

Last year, some of the skepticism regarding Ehlers is that he got a lot of points because he was on a high-scoring team with Drouin. Now the opposite is true, and he's increased his scoring rate.

Exactly. Unlike guys such as McDavid and Marner who face second tier defense every night.

Haha true enough. There's still a better chance than not he ends up in the NHL next year. Can't see why he wouldn't have expectations of a rookie season similar to Drouin's this year.

Pretty silly he didn't get MVP of the league honestly. He is clearly the best player in the league. No disrespect to Garland he had an amazing year as well but Ehlers should have got it.
