I saw him in the summer at the development camp. He was 175ish and hadn't skated since the QMJHL playoffs. His conditioning took a hit from not skating for a month or two but he still had those silky hands.

Guy is gonna be a monster. If he gets top six ice time (right now I'd say he'll start on the 3rd line), I could see him being a Calder nominee (McDavid will obviously win it)

Looks solid at camp physically. He has dynamic speed, good vision and a great shot. He's been playing with Burmistrov and Perreault. A lot of speed and talent on that line. They would be a handful for a lot of 3rd lines.

No one started pumping the tires here yet so I guess I'll get that going..First assist tonight. Has looked really good to start the season.

The guy has like 8 shots in his first two games as well as dishing off other glorious chances. He is definitely looking like a guy gaining confidence. Well done :handclap:

Showing some real nice chemistry with Scheif, who seems to have figured out his post-hitting curse. Should do good things together.

Sucks we played Rask and Schneider. Still have to wait on his first goal lol.

Kid has 10 SOG through 2 games only playing 15 minutes. That's an insane pace.

You meant 15 minutes a night. Ehlers definitely looks ready for the NHL and us already one of the Jets most dangerous offensive players. He's had some high quality scoring chances among the 10 shots.

This kid is really good. I'm jealous of you guys. Game changing talent. If not for Schneider he would have scored his first NHL goal yesterday.

He had two breakaways in the last two games. Aside from two of the best goalies in the game stoning him (Rask and Schneider), he admitted he was a little nervous and had more time to take the shots.

The goals will come, I could see him putting up 40+ points this year.

Below are a few of these Ehlers chances for those that haven't caught a Jets game yet:

[NHL]2015020005-418-a[/NHL]

[NHL]2015020005-611-a[/NHL]

[NHL]2015020012-419-a[/NHL]

He rushed that last breakaway.

Regardless, the most impressive thing to me has been his back checking, his checking, and his ability to stay on his feet along the boards, protect the puck and skate out of corners with the puck.

His 10 shots in two games, and offensive leadership on the second line is less surprising, but nice to see he is living up to the hype.

Anyways as a Mooseheads fan, I look forward to watching Ehlers play in the league. Probably the 4th best Moosehead of all time behind MacKinnon, Drouin and maybe just behind Voracek. Kid's got a bright future!

Ehlers is rushing his scoring chances a bit now, but I don't doubt that he'll figure it out. He's been an elite scorer, and has a terrific shot.

If the biggest complaint about a rookie with 2 pro games under his belt is he's rushing his shot, things aren't so bad.

Ehlers again with 3 shots today and another primary assist at even strength . He was also plus 1 again in spite of the losing cause.

He has 3 games , 2 points, a +3 and 13 shots. :handclap:

What's really impressing me is his defensive play is further along then I think a lot of us thought it'd be to start. He's working hard on both ends of the ice.

Still waiting for that first goal though, he's had his chances but hasn't connected yet. Soon!

came to say this.

Ehlers looks deadly so far and cant wait to see how good he is by end of season

The key for him is going to be fitness and conditioning. He needs to pace himself accordingly.

Especially with the long season, it wouldn't hurt to seat him out every 7-10 games

hes been one of Jets best forwards IMO... I don't think Maurice will ever want to sit him

He's been very impressive... Better with each game. It's just a matter of time before he starts scoring. In the meantime he's creating a lot of chances and playing a solid game in all zones.'
