Actually, I said it pre-draft that the real question is who should go 2OA. Hughes was always the clear 1OA, but all you homers tried to prop up Kakko. Guess what, just like I said the question should have been Dach v Byram v Kakko. Now that he's in the NHL Kakko's stock is dropping like a ton of bricks. He really doesn't belong in the NHL, but where should he be sent? Back to liiga? From how Kakko's transition has gone it looks like playing against North American boys is tougher than playing against Finnish men :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Wow, is that really neseccary? I wonder what age you are..

All the picks from the 2019 look dismal. Kirby "better than Kakko and Hughes" Dach has 11 points.

Great game by him vs Calgary, bizarre decision in the third by coach to bench him with a goal down. He’s should stay at left wing for the rest of the season, easier for him to pick retrieve and enter zone on his proper side. A player like him needs to have the puck or a chance to have the puck to get his touches and it will be easier for him on the left side.

Dach or Kakko? Sure, but what has Byram done to be in contention, exactly?

And what I find funny here is that Kakko's even with Hughes in terms of scoring, anyway - with far less of an opportunity given to him. You'd think Hughes was doubling his production or something.

Oh baby, would you look at that. The pride of Finland is in a league of his own... Not looking good. [mod]

If there is anything that doesn’t look good, it’s people believing seriously in somekind of true meaning with completely meaningless stats like this. On the other hand there are a lot of people in the world that believe in Santa Claus and the easter bunny, and those people are happy and giggly, so who am I really to judge after all... :dunno:

I'm not going to act like Kakko has played well, but as I always say, advanced stats for players in their first year or two in the league are completely worthless, if the stats are bad. A lot of these guys are still adjusting. You look to the talent, to the ability to make NHL plays, to impact shifts. Adjusting to the NHL is hard. If the stats are good, thats not a bad thing. It might mean the player is adjusting well to the league, or maybe the player is very sheltered. A lot of first and second year players are incredibly sheltered, and therefore can compile great advanced stats.

However, I think Kakko's starting to turn a corner with his play. A lot of people said that after 2-3 weeks of games at the start of the season, and I didn't agree, but he looked more impactful on a shift to shift basis on the Western Canada trip. He needs to keep it up, but when this was mentioned before, it didn't make sense to me because it wasn't anything consistent. He might've had a good game or he might've had a game where he compiled a few points. I don't even know how points he had on the Western Canada road trip, it was at least a few, but he looked impactful from shift to shift. You wouldn't mistake him for a journeyman 9th forward. For most of the season prior, you would.

Why would you need to act like that? He hasn't played well. (He probably will.) Everybody can see that. Why the need for acting? (Is this something to do with the pervasive show-wrestling culture in good old Murica of J.T. Barnum?)

Hes a f***ing kid ffs. If you get that excited to crap on a kid then your life must be horrific.

Ah, the cycle of hatred continues.

Literally just asking for some people to crap on Hughes when he doesn't do well.

I think some people wanted to put that discussion into the mainstream to quell the criticism coming Kakko's way. I can't speak for them exactly because I wasn't part of the group who did it, but thats my guess about why they were doing it.

Some people seem to just wait in anticipation for these young players to fail, so they can rip them apart on online forums.

Same thing year after year, prospect after prospect. Get a life.

This Kaapo Kakko thread doesn't seem laser oriented at Jack, does it? What do you think? (Do you? Sorry, Finnish question.)

I watched the end of the Rangers Canucks game and I thought he looked quite good.
