Its like this guy was a 5th round pick lol.

He played at 4 Nations Tournament for U20 last week. Played with Kaprizov and Vorobyev, looks like a decent line. 2+1 in 3 games. I think they will play together in WJC U20, so you guys will see him there I guess.
It wasn't very good year for him and I heard some rumors that he wants to go overseas so maybe you'll see him even sooner, probably in AHL.
Guryanov has had a worrying year, and if I'm the Stars I want him in a situation where he will get to play through his struggles.I think the reason Dallas didn't get as much flack is because while Guryanov was a slight stretch, he did/does have major upside

Ya people won't give dallas any flack cause many people know nothing about the guy. If the Guryanov mystery remains un talked about by alot of people next year still, I can see alot of people give their opinion of who dallas should have taken instead
The only stuff I read before the draft about Guryanov was he is highly skilled and he might be that guy who ends up being better then many drafted in the top 10
He was fairly unknown til late in the draft cycle, had a big U-18 last year to rise. Thing with Debrusk, vs Barzal is they play in the same league so it was harder to know. The fact they were also viewed as lower ceiling guys added to the annoyance, whereas Guryanov was viewed as high-ceiling guy. Stars seem to have invested in russian scouting, and I'd say Nill deserves the benefit of the doubt.Ya it seems like thats the scouting report we all got... not much knowledge of the guy
Joe Fishpaw (BigG44) said:The link was originally posted on HF, but it's now known that Denis Guryanov made the request to terminate the final year of his contract before the start of the 2015-16 season.
In a league where teenagers rarely play significant minutes, is it that much of a leap to think his questionable ice time was a result of filing that request? I don't think so. I'll just refer back to this blog post out of Russia posted recently.
Denis Guryanov 19-year-old striker became a full team regular "Lada", and his precocious masterovitaya game attracted the attention of fans and specialists. Dennis is not afraid to go to the stroke and is able to single-handedly deal with multiple opponents. The only thing that upsets - a low percentage of implementation of the scoring chances created. In 2016 Guryanov had to participate in the world championship among youth in the Russian team, but he missed through suspension, which he received for hitting an opponent with a club in a friendly match with the Danes. The chance for the young players "Lada" can not afford to invite eminent masters, but the club has a chance to make themselves players overstayers left-Grand club. In the season 2015/2016 he took advantage of a minimum of two hockey players.

Wasn't he cut due to facing a suspension?Ive seen him 3/4 times just from watching my daily KHL highlights, where he makes an end to end rush - literally around/through the entire team in excellent fashion. Problem is when he gets to the net he can't score. Don't know if that was part of the scouting report. If he can figure out how to bury I could see him taking off in the KHL - Dallas was not mistaken on the talent level, that's for sure.
In addition, getting snuffed from the WJC is a non issue IMO. Russia is so deep and Bragin usually favours the older player when it comes down to it. Will be a lock for a spot on the top lines this year. Im still very bullish on him this year.

Here is some insight on what's been happening with him this year.
Essentially he filed for contract termination with his club and Lada made him suffer for it by relegating him to the fourth line.
Speculation is that he will be heading to the AHL next year so the Stars will be able to make sure he's afforded every opportunity to further his development.
had a bum year, nothing to talk about really, if i were a stars fan, i'd be worried.
He just can't finish it. He has some gifted hands, size, incredible shot and he's elite skater as well.
He just should put it all together. I see a real star potential in him.
