Insane goal production. I think he's going to be in the NHL next year.

He will get a fair shot to make the team but I think he spends a year in the AHL like Henrique did. There is no way the Devils rush him.

Could he be a Michael Ryder type?

Fantastic shot but doesn't do a lot else.

That's actually quite a fair comparison.

Decent speed but not a strength, passing is okay, doesn't use his body a whole lot but has a wicked shot and a goal-scorers mentality. Defensively speaking, he's not too bad either.

the next wave of young Americans is coming for the Devils...they historically have many Americans on their teams and many at the top of their positions. Boucher should get a real long look next year for sure, but if he keeps this up why the heck not just bring him up and see what he can do with the big boys!

No need to rush them so fast.

Boucher gets a lot of his goals from the slot. The problem with that is NHL teams are exceptional now at taking away those shots. His defensive game is also non existent on most nights. However, considering the severe lack of talent on the Devils roster due to poor drafting over the past 5 to 8 years, he has a legit opportunity to secure a roster spot next fall.

Poor drafting? Oh wait, you're a Rangers fan

Josefson, Larsson, Merrill, Boucher, Fayne, Severson, Henrique, Gelinas, Cormier, Palmieri

Not bad for a team picking in the late 20s every year

You forgot Matteau....:sarcasm:

It's a joke, I dont want to change the topic, but Devils sould gave up their 1st last year...but Lou probably think some kid draft before where availlable at 29...like Tom Wilson/vasilevski/Jankowski/hertl/laughton...

Back to Boucher, best hope to him, kid seems to take frustration to be take off the WJC and perform...like Logan couture 2010 WJC

I still think Matteau will be a very useful 2nd/3rd line tweener who is a pain in the ass to play against.

steeve bernier no 2...

Steeve bernier stats in the "Q":
71 games 49 goal 52 assist 101 pts draft year...
66 36-46-82...

Matteau:

35 games 18 goals 10 assist, 28 pts

at least, reid Boucher score 62 goal this year...awsome!!!

In the NHL, he didnt look overwhelmed and averaged over a shot a game despite playing limited minutes and with goons. Sometimes, some players translate better to the pros than others and I dont think expecting him to end up like Steve Downie is unreasonable
