If he leads the league 50-60 games in I'll start getting on board. Or am I just some jealous hater for not believing after 17 games?
How does that sound?

Good problem to have, we're seeing that writing on the wall in leafland too with trying to fit in all the youth
I could see the Jets being for real even this season with Laine and Ehlers making big contributions on what was already a team that shouldn't have been in the bottom 10 imo

Maurice has a plethora of decisions to make, soon. Little, Armia, Perreault, Matthias and Myers coming back from injury - and guys like Lowry, Petan, Dano, and Copp playing so well.
Whatever happens, get Laine back with Ehlers and Chief. That line can be deadly.

Yes, you seem to be. Has anyone of you Toronto fans actually watched most of the Jets games, so you would actually know what you´re talking about?
Yes.
And so does the NHL scoring chart.
Don't pretend like you weren't thinking "GOAT!" after Matthews 4 goal game![]()
28 other teams would kill to have either player on their roster.
riddled with fabricated facts that are so easy to disprove.
He avoided this bet. You want to take me up or no?
It shouldn't be a pissing contest between fan bases (TOR vs WPG), especially when 28 other teams would kill to have either player on their roster.
Yeah but think how bad all the others would feel if we pooled up, instead.
"Ooh, but you got Matthews!"
"Uuh, but you got Laine with Scheifs!"
"Ahh, but you got Marner and Nylander to put up with Auston soon!"
"Ooh!"
"Uuh!"
Truthfully, Laine is doing exactly what I though he would do....
A year or two ahead of schedule...
Sounds fair to me, I don't have a problem with that all. And no I don't think you're a hater or irrational in any way, it's just that you have a smaller sample size than I do.
I'm assuming I'm a little ahead in watching games played by Laine (watched maybe 60 or so last year), so I understand that other people need time to get to the same point. Can't expect them to know or to have seen what I have, so I can't expect them to be as convinced either. That would be foolish and unfair.
Im hoping for marner-matthews-nylander vs Esl in the next rematch! Would be mad.Yeah but think how bad all the others would feel if we pooled up, instead.

I like that post with all his goal gifs, very nice summary of his goals. I don't get all the talk about Matthews in a Laine thread, there's no reason to try and demean one player to elevate another, both are good players. Just keep this on topic, I see this thread as being a Laine update thread for those around the league who don't watch Jet games. It shouldn't be a pissing contest between fan bases (TOR vs WPG), especially when 28 other teams would kill to have either player on their roster.
Now it's clear my goal prediction for him (27) is literally going more and more south as the season progresses.
Scheif and Laine benefit from each other, period. Scheif has value in some Laine's goals that didn't came off from Scheifele's pass. Lets not pretend otherwise. On the other hand, Laine scores goals from places and situations that most do not, so it goes both ways. Lets just enjoy watching them, not argue whether who benefits from who etc.
I don't think digging up scoresheets is the right way in this case, Scheif certainly does a lot of good things on the ice that don't end up in his point totals.
Laine has consistency issues and his honeymoon in the NHL seems to be over as Goalies and D-men are better prepared for Laine.
He'll end the season at a 0.5 point pace or so and that is high end production for a rookie, but likely not enough for Calder this year. Just IMO of course. Could be wrong as I often have regarding Laine.
What is the bet? Is Laine going to have more goals than Ovechkin by the end of the season? I'll take that if that is what you are offering.
