This . I figured around 220 . 234 seems very heavy . How many guys are that weight in the nhl ? 20? 30 ? ( honestly have no clue just throwing a dart to maybe get context ). Solid first 2 games ( apart from 1 noticeable blip ) .
Ya 6 hockey sites show 210,
The 234 poster is quoting Wikipedia

Enough of the hockey talk, can we get back to the important issues like his weight?

The haters have gone pretty quiet. He's come as advertised. Kid looks good

For sure, and there is little doubt in my mind at this point that he’ll be a top 6 forward on this team for years to come. A damn good one too, which will upset a lot of people.

Looking forward to seeing how his game develops over the course of a full NHL season.

Again, the people that thought he would suck/struggle transitioning to the NHL were typically super bias people (like the guy saying abdelkader is too good of a comparison but in the same breath compares Othmann's ceiling to Brad Marchand 🤣 cant make this shit up). Man has played a pro game the past 2 years in college. I dont see really any problem with him at least playing 3rd line all next year, but i suspect he finds his way into the top 6 early on.

Playoffs are a different story, especially with Keefe. But hes definitely drawing in if theres an injury or the team looks flat. Mans got that dawg in him.

Love what I've seen from him so far in the two games. A lot to be excited about. I don't expect him to be in the Game 1 lineup for the playoffs but I imagine he'll be in the lineup at some point.

IMO he’s got so much more potential upside than a guy like Lafferty. But the team has been more “role” focused this season. So I’m not sure Keefe sees him as a natural replacement for a bottom six guy like that. His strength along the boards could actually be useful in the bottom six but his lack of experience with the team/system becomes more important if he’s not in a complimentary role with better players.

I think it may depend on what they do with O’Reilly. If they stack O’Reilly-Tavares on the second line and stick with the formula of a defensive third and grinding fourth, he probably doesn’t have a spot. If they want to run the three big Cs on three lines and move Kampf’s defensive line to the fourth then he maybe has a spot at 2LW or 3LW.

I think Bunting’s spot might be the one to open up if he keeps taking borderline calls that ruin the top line’s rhythm.

I wouldn't be shocked seeing him playing regularly with either top line as early as next season and PP2 time.

His physical game and play in dirty areas is exactly what they need in the top 6 imo. A much better kind of Hyman eventually, in role I mean not so much in all around player. Knies will be much better I think.

I could even see them dropping RO to the 3rd line, keeping both Bunting and Knies at LW on the top 2 lines. But they might want to just bring in another winger and push Bunting to the 3rd line if that's the case too. And honestly Acciari at LW next to RO wouldn't be the worst on a 3rd line.

He's stuck out for the past two years(in a good way)in college...I literally had no idea who he was till he showed up for the Gophers. From the day he stepped on the ice in Minnesota i was saying, "Who the bleep is that?"

Seemed to me to be a guy who would be better as a pro than a college player, where hard hits are penalized more severely.

Is also not just a physical specimen, but has skills, and plays smart.

Interesting.

This is the 2nd time within just a few days I've been labeled "biased" for not suggesting that a prospect might not be quite as gifted as certain posters think.

Now I'm desparately trying to find out more about that bias I seem to have but know nothing about myself. Unfortunately, of the Dustin Wolf/Calgary fanboys nobody was able to help me. Maybe you can help me with this one.

I was think if it might be an anti Canada bias but that's unlikely because as you wrote yourself I like Othmann...and many other Canadian hockey players.

Curious case. I really can't think of anything that would justify labeling as biased, let alone more so than all the Toronto fans in this thread.

I think you are mostly just guilty of thinking to much of your own opinion. You are entitled to your own opinion and you can be wrong too.
