It was pretty obvious the first time I saw him at the U that he had a pro style game. If he works really hard on his game and stays healthy he should be a top 6 guy.

You know he clicked on this thread out of rage to begin with.

Knies is gonna be a beaut. If he adds a bit of weight and doesn't lose his skating, that's the ideal fit for this top 6.
Well, he’s listed at 234 lbs. How much more weight does he need?

I have no idea what the previous posts were about as I didn't read them. I simply was amused that a fan of the most pathetic major sports franchise in North America over the last 5 decades was taking shots at a vastly more successful organization and it's fan base.

Leaf fans just can't throw that stone.

We're throwing the stones, that's the luxury of making the playoffs. Best of luck in the lottery (again), though. Might be a good time to move on to a Habs prospect thread.

We don’t care. This thread is for Matthew Knies.

Great game yesterday, too bad that puck didn’t trickle across the line for him!

Where does 234 come from , I checked 6 sites, and he is listed as 209-210, and that includes the University of Minnesota.

could be wrong. The Gopher's website is often out of date, as are many others, though, listing their weights when they were drafted, or earlier. Know a few kids who were on the Gophs pretty well.

Bottom line is that Knies is pretty hefty, though he will get stronger as he matures. Strength is not a problem now, and will be even less so in the future. Where he can really help himself is to keep working on his skating, and skills.

I would say of all 7 sites, Wiki should probably be the least trusted one.
He certainly doesn’t look the same size as OV.

You people should be embarrassed.

Stop the fanbase attacks and get back on topic.

Are you seriously asking if a 19-year old is still considered a prospect?
Technically not per Corey Pronman's rules, which are that a player ceases to be a "prospect" if they have played 25 NHL games in a single season (regular season + playoffs), 50 NHL games total or are 25 years old by September 15th. It's a bit semantics, like you'd say McDavid wasn't a prospect after his rookie year, but a raw player like Slaf feels much more like a "prospect" still

Gopher website is more accurate than Wikipedia lol

Love what I've seen from him so far in the two games. A lot to be excited about. I don't expect him to be in the Game 1 lineup for the playoffs but I imagine he'll be in the lineup at some point.

Looked pretty good against two quality teams playing hard. Still lots to learn at the pro level obviously but he’ll learn quick if he’s a regular on the playoff roster.

234 seems like a midsummer weight lol... But make no mistake the dude is built like a tree stump.
This . I figured around 220 . 234 seems very heavy . How many guys are that weight in the nhl ? 20? 30 ? ( honestly have no clue just throwing a dart to maybe get context ). Solid first 2 games ( apart from 1 noticeable blip ) .
