Goal and an assist tonight, now leading all NCAA freshmen in scoring.

24 points in 16 GP.

Most idiotic WJC snub since?

Connor named MVP of the Great Lakes Invitational tournament this weekend.

damn shame he isn't in Finland right now. this kid has torched the NCAA at an elite level, leaving him at home is only further showing how idiotic Johansson is with his selections. one of the best damn players I have seen out of the USHL in some time..want nothing but the best for the young man.

While I agree thathat Connor should be there, what he's doing isn't incredibly unique (but still extremely impressive).

I counted 7 other players on that list from 2015-2016 that are having a big year, Colin White being the other standout in my eyes. They are nearly identical in points, with White having a pretty big edge in terms of all around game.

Connor should still be there, and it's a snub for sure, but he's not the best freshman in the NCAA imo, that's White.

Named rookie of the month for the NCAA.

Connor led the nation with seven goals and 13 points in six games during the month of December, averaging 2.17 points per game in that span. He registered at least one point in all six games, including four multi-point games.

For the season, the Winnipeg Jets’ prospect leads the nation’s freshmen in points per game (1.47), goals per game (0.71) and points (25). His overall average of 1.47 points per game this season is the most by a Michigan freshman since the 1979-1980 season.

Just partially through the second period period tonight, Kyle Connor has already potted two more goals - giving him fourteen on the season thus far. For some perspective, Larkin had scored just six goals last year at this time.

UPDATE: Connor finished the night with two goals, two assists.

He is going to look great in a Winnipeg Jets uni.

Sorry if its been stated, but can someone tell me why he didn't make the team? It just doesn't make sense to me, but i admit i haven't watched him play other then on highlight reels.

USA brass was being pretty stupid. No other way around it.

Kid is one of the best NCAA freshmen ever.

They added an assist, giving him 5 points for the game (2G 3A) and 30 points in 18 games.

....just for perspective, a couple of NCAA freshmen...

Dylan Larkin (UM, 2014/15): 35 games, 15 goals, 32 assists, 1.34 pts/game
Kyle Connor (UM, 2015/16*): 18 games, 14 goals, 16 assists, 1.67 pts/game

Because many coaches and managers in hockey tend to be arrogant fools who think so highly of themselves that they'll concoct reasons for ignoring elite level players like Connor in favor of more low-key selections because they think that they're seeing something that the general public does not.

They don't. Those people are frauds.

I know you love to pump Senators prospects, but chill with the homerism. This thread is about Kyle Connor, who is, at the moment, the superior offensive player.

Such a good young player I was really hoping he would fall to Detroit in the draft. Hes looking like a steal if a pick so far.

The Boston GM was a high as a kite to pass on Connor, White and Barzal

Man imagine if boston drafted those three?haha... woulda been insane.. but I'm happy they didn't cause that would be just unfair!

That could have been one of the best first rounds by a team since Perry/Getz.

All three are amazing players.
