I've always wondered why opposing casters never get together with guys and ask them how their name is pronounced and share notes. I'm a Leafs fan and once, on the same shift, heard Luke 'Cunnin' which is based, and Luke 'Q-nin', which is less

I still enjoy when Stephane Fiset was almost 30 that he finally told the Kings announcers that it was pronounced Fee-say rather than Fee-set as they had been doing for years. I thought the NHL media guide did have a phonetic listing for each player.

I feel like somebody recently went out of their way to let everyone know that we've been mispronouncing their name for years.

And we just had the videos of the European players saying their names, 🎶 Ukko Pekka-Luukkonen 🎶

It can't be hard to talk to these guys and get a consensus here.

There's multiple variants of the surname He, which is why I'd love to know just which one.

Give he's born in Beijing, it's almost 100% that it carries the "huh" sound. Chinese characters have a lot of homonyms, but 何 is by far the most commonly seen for last name.

The other somewhat common one is 贺. A different tone which is hard to grasp for English speakers, but it still carries the same sound.

Kevin has stepped up for Niagara, and the way he’s playing against London is unreal tonight.

Just so skilled, and on a team of 2 NHL drafted players, his performance is more impressive. Great short handed, tied the game too. A lot of passion in his game.

He fits a great energy role or third line player.

Lots of Jets fans are very happy with having He in the Jets' prospect pipeline.

He really fits the Jets' up-tempo, pressuring style and also has some capability to be a secondary scorer at the NHL level.

His passion for the game is terrific. Winnipeg fans will love that.

Niagara has a solid team. Roobroeck is phenomenal, Brauti is a stud at the OHL level, Wassilyn is one of the best 16 year olds in the league and they have solid depth throughout, too.

Yes, but if you're comparing Niagara to London, there's a big difference. London has the skill and the vets, with whom most are drafted into the NHL. Niagara will be competing for a cup in the next 2-3 years.
