according to behind the glass flyers training camp he wasn't good enough.
Interesting. The reports I read on him were positive and the general opinion was that he was good enough. Regardless, he is in the big show now. Excited to see what he does. A very exciting player.

Who would've thought he'd turn out to be a better player than Wahlstrom? Great get.

Wait till they have their 20th birthdays before you anoint one as having turned out better lmfao

Right. Still, there is a point that it may be difficult to scout the the US nat'l development team, because there's such a concentration of talent on one squad. I think that's something we've been learning.

Anyway, congratulations to PHI fans for their pick. He looks great.

I really felt that way last year, and I think it is generally true. There are no comparable teams that play a schedule like that as well, or that have the best players from one age group playing depth/secondary roles like we do. I think I spent 50-60% of my 2019 draft effort on that one team -- even on a given shift there were four or five guys worth looking at.

That said when it comes to Farabee and Wahlstrom I think it is simpler. Wahlstrom has been anointed as a future NHLer since pre-puberty (he has always been lights out until fairly recently), whereas Farabee has been curving into his game. He just gets better and better. I agree that Farabee is trending to be the better pro but from a raw tools perspective, hard to bet against Wahlstrom realizing his potential in a big way.

He did have a good camp and thats not at all what AV said on Behind the Glass. He merely said they would send him down just to get finishing confidence since he was struggling to just finish his chances. Farabee had a great training camp but just couldnt finish for his life. Probably had 5 posts in preseason. Most thought he should have stayed but AV figured lets see him finish some goals in AHL and call him up right after that. Then Farabee scored in his 1st 3 games so that was already enough to get him back up and on the 1st PP unit just like that. Hes looked great.

He was fantastic tonight creating multipke chances. He also saved a likely goal with good stick on defense.

Best game so far for him.

So much young depth on this team but it's gonna be so hard to hang on to these players in the long run.

I really do smell a Stanley Cup coming somewhere before 2025.
