Will he be a 1st liner at the World Juniors this year or is he a 2nd liner on that team?

I can't say I'm too familiar with the current depth.

Well, he's competing with Alex Nylander and Jonathan Dahlén for those spots, both of which where drafted ahead of him.

Grundstrom was ranked higher in terms of scouting to Dahlen js but it will be close between the two for sure.

Excellent showing at rookie camp for Toronto. Scored a couple goals and put up a couple assists in two scrimmage games.

Grundstrom played with Mitch Marner and Adam Brooks.

He showed very good offensive talent at camp.

Not to mention he showed some bite to his game when he clipped Bracco up high. (By accident?)
:naughty::sarcasm:

So jealous, would've wanted him on the devils. Having watched him a lot this past year i'm fairly confident he'll be a top six player in the NHL.

Grundstrom made a few really great offensive plays in the two scrimmage games at developmental camp this week.

His production in the SHL was pretty good. I think his offensive upside is overlooked.

Toronto's management compared him to Leo Komarov but Grundstrom already shows better hands than Komarov ever has.

wow leafs looking at there 2rd komarov clone thats pretty impressive lol
(sosh, grundstrom)

Good to get a blunder like that out of the way early on in the career.

The player has a sense of humour & played big minutes on a MODO team in his draft year.

He has the character to bounce back & while he may not produce many goals for the highlight reel, he may make enough plays & grind out plenty of hits to carve out what may be a promising pro career in North America within the next few seasons.

He'll be a good one.

I'm excited to see him at the World Juniors.

When the Leafs are good in 2-3 years, he'll be the perfect player (along with Korshkov) to add to the line-up on ELC's to complement Marner/Nylander/Matthews.

Grundstrom had a slow start (statistically) to his SHL season, but he scored a hatrick today, and has 4G in last 2 games.

Edit: I should add, he's still only 18 years old.

I am surprised he fell as far as he did. He is really a talented player, and the few games I have seen him in he has looked dangerous. The hattrick goal was nice and it showed off his talents nicely. I wouldn't be surprised if he broke out soon as I expect he should start getting more ice time.

I expect him to get around 25 points this season in the SHL.

He looks like a really decent prospect for the Maple Leafs. He adds something that is lacking in the system.

I think he can be better than Leo Komarov. Grundstrom appears to have a lot more actual skill than Komarov.

I think he might actually hit 30-35points, I watched all his Frölunda games and he has hit a good amount of iron that took the wrong bounce, was very surprised he's only 18y.
