TML assets in Luongo trade spec (Bozak, Kadri + pick) unchanged since fall reports. Canucks did not up demand after GM change.

Still way too much to give up. Lou's contract is a negative, no if's and or buts, combine that with the countless posts regarding this and the recent Cox article, it is crystal clear the contract is awful and will hurt any team that takes him on eventually.

Nope wouldn't do it even if the pick isn't a top end one. I believe in Kadri and I think he is going to break out this season, we've spent so much time developing him it would ashamed to let him go and prosper with another team.

I could see Bozak, Frattin and a pick or Bozak, Colborne and a pick, but Kadri? Nah.

No one is all of a sudden enlightened. The people (like me) who did not want to make the trade still do not; the ones that want to make the trade still do; those who are undecided, had not made up their mind.

You personally were not a part of some minority.

Plus what we all think has absolutely 0% impact on what will eventually happen.

The Nucks are dropping like flies , With 9.2 mil in second line on IR Gillis needs to drop salary now , another starter go's down and he might be had for a slightly used Kenmore washer .

That Cox piece is what I've been saying, Luongo makes zero sense for the Leafs.

In fact, he makes no sense for any team. Vancouver is so screwed right now.

Just kick back and wait...

Let us see what we have before we panic, besides everyone knows Gillis has a problem, the worst case scenario for us is a higher pick in a strong draft.

If we finish bottom 4-5 this year, would you guys be willing to deal Grabo for him (might take a little more)? Especially if we draft Nate or Barkov?

Or if we signed Getz but there's probably zero chance he'd come here

this is what they think of us in vancouver hf b:

"The problem with Toronto is that they are simply so dry in the cupboards,
Unfortunately, that team has shown the most interest for Luo.
They will constantly offer us the worst package.
Sucks to be a Leafer."

If we offered anything it would be too much. Nobody would give Luongo a 10 year 53 million dollar contract today. Actually, illegal now anyway but whatever.

So if Luongo couldn't get that as a U F A from any team, why would we give up players on top of taking that contract?

Heres calling that the Canucks have a terrible season and miss the playoffs if they roll with their current team. I look at those forwards beyond the sedins, with the injuries they have, and they are thin to say the least.

There is a black cloud hanging over that team and they will get off to a terrible start.

It seems counter productive to trade probably our best center for a goalie like Luongo.

Gardiner, Rielly and Kadri won't be going anywhere. I wouldn't worry if a trade did happen because those are the 3 most valuable young players/prospects we have. Any trade we do I don't feel will hurt the team unless a 1st is included.

Most i'd go would be:

Bozak
Mac/Frattin
Colborne
2nd

but we need bozak (until we get a #1 center)

they'll have to take connolly

connolly
mccarthur
reimer
for
luongo

They won't want Connolly though. Bozak is better but we don't need him more then we need Luongo. Connolly or Kadri can fill in.

that's still way too much if you ask me.

Actually this one was even better

I seriously hope it's not Toronto. They've undervalued him so much, not to mention the hate Toronto media and fans have for Vancouver. I never wanna see Toronto back in the playoffs. Them not getting Luongo helps with that

 again with that inferiority complex. I've never met anyone in Toronto who says they hate Vancouver as a city. I love it, I definitely want to go sometime. It's the classless fans and constant hate they send our way that gets their Canucks hated by us.

I understand why people can hate the Toronto media, because outside of a very select few they are an absolute embarrassment to the city. But 90% of the fans really are not that bad relative to other fan bases.

I am from Vancouver.

The fans are delusioanl, even more so than ours. When Vancouver gets off to a bad start, the crud will hit the fan and pressure will mount on Gillis. He will then try to unload Luongo only to find the door has closed and there is no market for him.At that point they begin chanting "Fire Gillis" during home games. They are like Toronto lite but on drugs.

Nonis trading prospects for Luongo would be akin to Burke trading 2 firsts and a 2nd pick for Phil Kessel in an ill timed panic move to cheat the team rebuild process. That didn't work out so well, 4 missed playoff years and a debate if Kessel will re-sign or Leafs risk losing him for nothing.

Maybe Nonis is a better GM than Burke afterall, if he resists going and overpaying for quick fixes, I'm feeling better about Burke getting the can with Nonis's first move, jettisoning contracts for picks. Leafs can only get better by drafting/developing/promoting and signing good FA's and probably trading Phil Kessel, that ill timed deal Burke panicked on 4 years ago.

If the Canucks think they can win now they should move Schneider

Lu is just unmovable or at least for anything of value and when comparing to a potential return of Schneider they probably could get the pieces to make them legit contendors for the next 2 or 3 years

they are going to f their window up just like the sens did
