About 20 years ago I was driving on Sunrise Hwy on my way to Delaware and decided that it was worth following a speeding State Trooper instead of being bogged down in the right lane. I hung back a bit but he eventually slammed on his brakes, flipped his lights on and put his hand out the window telling me to pull over. When the State Trooper asked how fast I was going, I told him I wasn't sure and was just following him...he let me off with a warning.I just had something happen to me that has never happened to a man in US history. I got pulled over by a white male cop and didn't get a ticket. His printer jammed and he was too lazy to write it out manually, so he let me go.![]()
@80s Kid It can be scary. One time I was speeding 30 mph over the limit on a country road in the middle of the night. The country cop was so upset his hands were shaking. There was no one around except cows. I thought he was going to shoot me.... I haven't always been this lucky, but I still couldn't believe it worked.
You really never know who you're going to get pulled over by. I completely understand that the cop has no idea (usually) who's getting pulled over but sometimes people just decide to go on a power trip.@80s Kid It can be scary. @80s Kid Agreed. I've decided that if a cop tells me to get out of my car w/o cause, I'm gonna wait until backup arrives in case, he's dangerous. You really never know who you're going to get pulled over by. I got a ticket for going over 30 on the Belt Parkway with absolutely no traffic (80 mph). Most expensive ticket of my life.@80s Kid It can be scary. Must be something in the water lately, a cop let me off from running a red light a couple weeks ago. Maybe we got the same guy?I just had something happen to me that has never happened to a man in US history. I got pulled over by a white male cop and didn't get a ticket. Don't even get me started about the Belt Pkwy. I'm convinced that driving on that road will take years off your life.I got a ticket for going over 30 on the Belt Parkway with absolutely no traffic (80 mph). Most expensive ticket of my life.
Depends where. The stretch between the Gowanus where the Belt starts until the Verrazano Bridge is so f***ing empty and such a fun drive if you like speeding; not driving like a maniac, but just going plain fast. After the bridge, f*** literally the entire rest of the highway and LI where it enters.Don't even get me started about the Belt Pkwy. Agreed about fun driving. I have a 2005 model with a V6 and a JBL 6 CD changer. It's so fun to drive!Depends where. You got us all wrong. I'm in shape but feel horrible all the time.Four months ago, I realized I was different than you guys. I was fat and out of shape. I gave up alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, potatoes, and red meat. I also started dieting, exercising, and fasting. I've lost 35 pounds and feel great! I finally fit in here.
Unless someone has had parents in their 80s, it's hard to explain what's it's like. My 88 year old mom said to me recently "You want me to die". I know I shouldn't joke with an 88 year old but I couldn't help myself. I shrugged my shoulders and replied "Well, not right this second".![]()
that happened to me, i was driving back down from my college upstate, middle of the night, i was the only car around going like 90 lol. Cop was agitated as hell. As he was walking over I turned off my ipod (classic) in the center console and he started freaking out at me asking what i was doing.@80s Kid It can be scary. Agreed with all. Gummies don't affect me. My wife writes the respiratory policies for one of ATL's largest hospital corporations. I'm glad you quit because vaping is worse than smoking. Google it.I quit vaping/smoking last weekend. Well really I've been too lazy and unmotivated to drive down to the weed shop a town over. But it has (obviously) been great on my innards and I haven't felt any intense urge that I *need* to get more.
I never liked smoking. It was a "necessary" evil since when I was growing up the only thing available was flower. Now everything is available everywhere. I would love to switch over to edibles, but they're usually very hit or miss. Sometimes 1 gummy work in 30-40mins and I'm set for a few hours, other times I'll pop 4 or 5 and feel nothing. I don't know if that's my tolerance or the fact that edibles are difficult to regulate/put a definitive "dose" on per piece.
