He chose Harvard over LHJMQ.
That was my point.
Apparently, I didn't express it right.

Mishandling? Leblanc has not shown any worthwhile progress.. that's no one's fault but maybe the scouting staff for thinking he was the guy in 2009.
He was mishandled.
He wasn't mishandled. He sucks. Leblanc will never be an important piece of the Montreal Canadiens.

Easy to claim that a player sucks when he's young and not developed yet. Pacioretty had very similar heat on him as well.
I'm not saying he's going to make it but it's still far too early to make a definitive statement on the guy's career. I think he has all the tools and the on-ice mentality to be a pro - he didn't look particularly out of place in his 40 game stint either.
And this argument is based on what exactly ?
How many of his games have you watched ?
Can you say that he was given all the chances to succeed last year?
Collberg, Hudon, de la Rose, McCaron, Bournival, Dumont and Bozon will pass him in the depth chart and Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Paciorety, Plekanec and Eller will all stay for a long time in Montreal.
Leblanc will play a long time in the league as a third or fourth liner but probably not with the Habs. He will be trade sooner than later.
Have you seen Steve Quailer play hockey? He will never see the light of day in the NHL. During the scrimmage last season they called up half the Bulldogs and didn't even bother to give him a sniff in a meaningless game. He'll look very average against the rookies, imagine the 1st team.
There are no 'favors' given in the NHL. Marc Bergevin doesn't strike me as the type to coddle those with a sense of entitlement. Leblanc's played 42 games. Spent a lock-out year in Hamilton.
He would not learn a thing playing with the rookies. He's played 2 pro seasons.
There is nothing to be gained by sending him to this camp. He is a former first round pick who doesn't need the further embarrassment of being subjected to this camp. It will just lead to more public criticism of him which won't do anyone any good. It doesn't help the team at all as it only beats down his confidence further and shows other teams that you don't believe in him as well. If they are entertaining the idea of moving him it would be prudent to keep up appearances.....
Bottom like the '09 Draft sucked balls. And most here agreed with the pick.

Habs fans are fickle. Wow.
How was he used in Hamilton ?
Why didn't he get a call up last year ? He shown he could handle the big league a year prior.

Thing is, everything is fickle. Opinions changes with new things you learn and as time passes by. In life or in whatever sport. Personnally, not ready to give up on the kid. Not at all. Still believe he has in him to succeed. Really wished he would have bulked up more though.
Leblanc = Chipchura. With lil' better offense.
The thing is with Leblanc, as a bottom Nhler, he doesnt fit our needs. Maybe in a year or two, when Bergevin will be done improving size and physicality it wont be a problem anymore. But in a lineup full of softies, its hard to find him a role. Im sure hell be a Nhler, but im not sure it will be with us.
Showining up big and bulky is the not the formula for on ice success. Guys like Byfuglien are supremely talented but carry around 20-30 extra lbs and it hurts their game.
If LeBlanc shows up at 220-230lbs it will hurt his game not help it. He needs to be at 190-195lbs at this point, maybe closer to 200lbs the coming years. Size wasn't his issue last year, I think he lost focus after playing the 2nd half in the NHL and starting AHL, then the bad ankle injury made things worse. If he shows up this year with the proper focus he can be a top line player in the AHL and be knocking on the NHL door.
Way too much agendas here...
You do know that this is not what I have in mind. I'm just looking at stature and frame and didn't see a lot of improvement. What's his real weight anyway? Habs site still has him at 178lbs which makes no sense. DB has him at 190lbs....
