I would actually prefer: Bournival, Eller, Leblanc
Eller's too good to be a third line centre.

Enough with the drama...
Can't see a player just switching his game like that to a completely different style.
Did I miss something, what drama w/Leblanc?
People were wondering why Leblanc wasn't invited to the rookie camp, that he couldn't be just invited to the pro one, that something was clearly in the works Kristo style etc.....Not a big drama though...![]()
Is he really consider a veteran? He now has only 2 professional seasons under his belt. It has been 4 years since his draft year (4th being this year, his 3rd professional year starting).
This is his 5th season since being drafted
1st season - Harvard
2nd season - Montreal Juniors
3rd season - Hamilton/Montreal
4th season - Hamilton
5th season - Now
Good for him, but we really don't have any place in the Top 9 and he's not the type of player who can play on a 4th line. Unless someone is getting injured, there is no way he can make the team.
You are correct! I must of done 2013-2009 to get 4 years and completely forgot about the Harvard year being drafted.
I'd like to know how he evolved physically all those years 'cause frankly, just watching him, you have a feel that he didn't grow too much. Needed to become stronger and you have the feeling that it's exactly the same. If so...lack of commitment? Or just inability to make a frame stronger than it is?
Hoping that he did in fact became stronger over the summer. For me, it's still strange to not see him at the rookie camp. You have Quailer a 2008 draft pick that is at the rookie camp so it's not about the draft year. Naattinen is at the rookie camp though you can say that's because he's been injured. Strange to be doing him a favor after such a bad year.

There is nothing to be gained by sending him to this camp. He is a former first round pick who doesn't need the further embarrassment of being subjected to this camp. It will just lead to more public criticism of him which won't do anyone any good. It doesn't help the team at all as it only beats down his confidence further and shows other teams that you don't believe in him as well. If they are entertaining the idea of moving him it would be prudent to keep up appearances.....
Saw him the other day in a deli with the. guy who owns Play It Again Sports on St Charles (in the West Island). He did not seem to be any bigger IMO, fit, but slim.
This is what worries me about him. He doesn't show dedication. He hasn't worked towards gaining the size needed to be in the NHL. Just like choosing to go to Harvard, showed that he valued education > NHL
I mean, if my son was LL, I would want him to keep his Harvard options open, I 100% understand that, but that is because I know, as a kid, I dreamt of the NHL and I knew it wasn't realistic, but if you are that good and that close, if you chose Harvard over NHL, well, to me, as someone who values Stanley Cup and winning over everyting else, well **** I'd take a Stanley Cup ring over a Harvard Diploma everytime.
One thing about the Bergevin regime that has worried me has been the rumors of the mishandling of LL.
He chose Harvard over LHJMQ.
A bad choice. He did not need to spend all that time studying and in class, whenbhe could be at the gym three hours a day instead.
Bottom like the '09 Draft sucked balls. And most here agreed with the pick.

I still agree with the pick. Sure, players after have done better but it would be 20/20 hindsight there. Generally speaking, I don't see anything wrong with the pick. It was a decent pick at the time and I haven't counted leblanc out.
