When Woll gets a shutout, you know your team is absolute trash this season. Love seeing it happening to the Isles, their fans are annoying since Tavares left town.

Leafs dominated a game they easily should've. Played great defensively, got a ton of shots, Marner got a few goals, Bunting looked great back on the first line.

Still not sold on Matthews/Marner and Tavares/Nylander together though, not really working.

Engvall is useless, he'll be around until Mikheyev is back from injury.

Ritchie off the first line, good things happen.

Leafs penalty kill is top notch yet again.

Kase/Kampf are awesome

Feel good win.
Give the Woll hate a rest dude. He's played 2 games and hasn't shown he doesn't belong in either 1 of them. Learn how to evaluate goalies first before you want to rip on them.

woll looked steady and relaxed in his second game.. that's all you can ask when grooming a young goalie to a higher level. he does still slide a bit to far when he's in his butterfly but that's adjustable and having jack in his ear probably makes it all the better

congrats to Mr Woll

Not trying to troll or anything, but watching this game tonight, how the Bud's played for possession, how they shut down their own end and kept the Isles to the outside and didn't allow anything to go through the middle.

Was exactly the way Babs was trying to get them to play. It's great hockey and I think and hope they finally got it.

Good win against a shorthanded Isles team in their barn.

Gotta remember we were also on a back to back and 3 games in 4 nights so doubling the other team in shots plus a shutout was still a good result.

Bunting on the top line looks good? Who would have thought?

Don't care about offense either. Seems that the team has adopted a very effective defense-first possession system that is working wonders, and could very well be much better in the playoffs.

Funny enough, this looks like the system that Babcock wanted in Toronto but he could never instill it.
helps to have a true shutdown line, kampf has been my favorite signing so far. the new PK is a big reason too. its a really impressive PK watching it game in and game out.

I can't remember the last time I've felt so comfortable watching the Leafs play in their own end.
Does anyone on the team keep their feet moving as much as Kerfoot? Kid has a ton of will.
Perhaps Liljegren's best game in the show. Gaining confidence by the day.
Marner with two - 2! - on a night when, imo, Matthews was quiet.
Ritchie's best game as well? At least, for those who dislike him, I think fair to say he made an impact on the goal by Kase.
Speaking of...dude has a motor, hope he's ok.
I haven't checked his totals this year, but anytime you can 'disappear' Barzal as well as we did tonight is impressive.
Congrats to Woll. Your first is always special ;) Though I would like to see him tidy up his handling of the puck and communication with his D.

Well done boys!

Really liked the little I saw from Ritchie with Kase and Kampf....yeah, I know it's easy to say after a game like that, but he seems to compliment them well and they'll drag him into the muck most nights.

Also, continue to be impressed by Brodie night in and night out. He's not perfect, but boy does he ever play a solid, smart and composed game. A few times you'd see Mo scrambling a bit or fumbling pucks, then Brodie comes over to bail him out. Just a solid partner

The Isles were missing a good portion of their roster due to covid... this should have been a blow out for the Leafs.
3-0 with heavy offensive zone time. Hockey isn't basketball. Besides in the pregame thread there were nervous Nancies. Oh they are in their new arena they will be pumped this will be tough. etc etc

The previous night's loss didn't turn into a streak; Marner notched a couple (with a SHG to boot); Woll picks up his first shutout in just the second start of his NHL career; Leafs win. OK! A Tavares goal was really the only thing missing.

good solid win. If the big guns don't produce but this is the way they become a winning team and go deep in the playoffs im all for it. Big IF though.
