It's because a lot of us know this probably won't happen again. Like it or not, we definitely were lucky to not match up with Boston, who can systematically execute this team. This run has been magical in literally every sense of the word.

MSL is 38. Richards is buyout fodder. Hank is 32. We have no 1sts for two years (though I can live without them after this run.). No high end talent coming up except for a few reaches. This is the year. If this team was eliminated in 5 by Pittsburgh we''d be *****ing about the same things we ***** about every off season. No high end scorers, no #1 center, etc. This is the same flawed team everyone has complained about all season.

Just being real with this post.

This actually makes me excited. Our window is small and we've been trading picks away like candy. We will have to go through a proper rebuild this time. Maybe it's the alcohol talking, but I'm serious.

Have to buy out Richards. Try Miller as the replacement.

Use the savings to pay the UFAs and RFAs.

Might think I'm nuts, but I'd actually look to sign Callahan, not at 6.5 for tons of years, but I'd do 5.5 a year for 4.

Even 5.5 is an overpayment...thanks but no thanks

Well, at least it was a fun ride. We got to beat 3 extremely douchey teams to get to where we are. Beating Pittsburgh in the fashion we did was seriously GOAT.

I just cannot agree with the 20 year thing though, that was my point.

I do understand your concerns about how the organization can make that next step.
It is my concern also. Still, this team has a window that is here right now, and more importantly, I think that the Rangers are building a culture. It takes time.
Yes, I agree, it has to happen, time waits for no-one.

You can take your "proper rebuild" and go ...

No guarantees on "proper rebuilds" ever working.

If that's really the way you feel, there's a team in Edmonton you can go be a fan of.

Hank FINALLY gets his shot at the cup and he's..........good I guess. After all these years of him waiting I'm surprised this is how he plays.

Haven't actually thought about it that way. :(

I'm tempted to think we won't make it back for the rest of Hank's career. I fear this Finals will wrongfully be remembered as his legacy.

Sad, but probably true.

Guys, 4 games to win.

a 4 game winning streak.

It's not undoable.

Not impossibly, but highly unlikely. :(

I want AV to tell us what the NHL said to him after the non call when this series is over.

Can't sign Callahan with MSL taking up cap space. Buying out Richards allows them to give raises to RFAs and retain a few bottom 6 UFAs, that's about it.

And there are better things in life than to be negative all the time.

I'm not negative...just about the rangers is all....ya know being a fan of this team for 30 plus years kinda makes you this way....if nothing changes you may be this way too in time....just by default

You realize Paul Stastny is a FA right?

There will never, EVER, be a real rebuild in New York City.

We won't be Edmonton. Calm down. They made the mistake of promoting their talent too early. They're like a bunch of spoiled brats now because of it.

Hank should be more revered than Richter, and I don't care what anyone else says. Again, he hasn't been bad this series at all. I just expected better from him when he finally got his shot in the finals. That's the disappointment.

Lundqvist would already have a Cup with the 93-94 Rangers.

I think some people are forgetting that the team needs to play good team defense in front of Henrik. They did not do a good job in front of him with those leads in the first two games... And game 3 LA took away a lot of our space and got the goaltending from quick.

Henrik is NOT the problem in this series. It's our defense not being able to handle the Kings, particularly when they come in waves like they do so often.

I refuse to blame that controversial non-interference call in game 2 as the turning point. We broke down and couldn't handle things defensively when we needed to stay focused and maintain our third 2-goal lead of the game. We've been mentally tough for the most part in these playoffs, but not in this series IMO.

Having said all of this, go out and win a game on Wednesday. Give yourself a chance at making history.

We won't have cap space, and why would he leave Colorado?

Missed my point. There's always that short-sighted, yet alluring quick fix that GMs of New York teams can't resist.

For real I wouldn't be shocked one bit if we sign Stastny,
