I actually think losing last night is good for today. That sounds backwards, but it's the Kings in a nutshell. In fact, it may have been better if we gave up both points!

Last 3 road games (all against playoff teams) Kings 3 goals/101 shots. Goal scorers: Dwight King (2) Jake Muzzin

That's really disturbing. Hopefully that changes tonight, since they aren't playing a playoff team. And I hope Bachman doesn't look as good as he did vs the Avs last week. It's like this team is Jekyll and Hyde home and away...

Considering how they played in those 3 games, that sounds about right.

Oiler fan here, this is our defense tonight:

Klefbom (Decent) - Schultz (Okay offense bad defense)
Davidson (AHLer) - Aulie (Need I say more? Keith Aulie top 4?)
Marincin (Decent) - Musil (AHLer who can't skate) .

If you don't put up at least 5 goals there is something wrong.

No Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Hall playing center where he is terrible.

This should be an utter face roll akin to the last game.

That is rough. I can't believe Katz has allowed Lowe to continue to run that team deep into the ground, to the point that these poor kids are being ruined because of them getting used to playing such a low level of hockey.

With that said, Eberle terrifies me when he's on his game. I think trading him to the Kings in exchange for a defenseman would be best for both organizations :naughty:

Do you not understand that no one knows more about winning than Kevin Lowe?

But in all seriousness. I feel really bad for their fans. They are good fans who deserve better than this.

Kevin Lowe should not manage another hockey team. Actually, I'd love to see him take over the Sharks after Doug Wilson is given his walking papers.

That's not going to happen. Wilson is going to be given a completely wide berth to scorch the earth and totally revamp the team, and he is going to proceed in doing so by firing Randy Hahn, replace him with a junior college radio broadcaster, and trade this year's no. 1 for Ryan Garbutt, one day before the lottery draw.

The Sharks will win the lottery draw the next day.

well i have to disagree here.

St.Louis know exactly who is more dangerous in playoff to play against.
They will make absolutely sure to lose against the Jets today.

Not getting both Vancouver points is a nightmare because we can't make it on our own.
Everyone makes sure now the Kings are eliminated

The Blues are going for the Central division crown for home ice advantage, so they're not just going to throw the game against the Jets. The Kings win out, which is very do able, and they're in. Plain & simple. They still control their own destiny. They win tonight and beat Calgary and they're up 2-4 points depending on the Flames outcome tonight. Who knows, maybe the Flames are looking past the Coyotes to the Kings.
The Kings win tonight & the Flames lose, and the Kings are up by 2 points. They go into Calgary and win, they're 4 up and in the playoffs. These 3 games (Kings/Oilers, Coyotes/Flames, & Kings/Flames) are the season.

From Jason Lewis's column today , this is 18 pts that got away

"
Also disappointing is the fact that the Kings have lost a league leading nine games in overtime after having scored first. Holding leads has not been an easy this year as last season."

This is what probably bothers me the most. We were nails when it came to holding 3rd period leads, especially late in the game. I think this season we blew 7-8 two goal leads and ended up on the losing end on most of them.Ducks,Flyers, and that Flames game when we had a 3-1 lead with 3 min to play and let them come back and win it in OT stand out. The Flames, to a man have said that game changed their season around after dropping 8 straight games.

Oiler fan here. Most of us are cheering for you guys. We hate our management, we hate Calgary, and a lot of us hate Winnipeg. Losing might launch us into drafting Eichel if Arizona keeps winning, and no one but Buffalo wins the lottery. Lots of reasons for us to want you guys to win tonight. Meanwhile, everyone else is in our GDT pleading with us to win tonight. Time to show them what we do best. Time to show them the frustration and disappointment Oiler fans have been living with for the last 9 years.

Good luck tonight guys, I hope you guys make the playoffs. If you do, it means the Flames or (hopefully) the Jets miss. I cheered for you guys when you won your first Cup. And even though a lot of us are still bitter about Gretzky, if you guys didn't snap him up, someone else would have. Pocklington would have sold him regardless.

Do us a favour, and kick our ***** even harder tonight. Emperor Lowe, and King MacTavish are idolized by our 80's jock sniffing owner, so they are harder to kill than cockroaches wearing kevlar bodysuits. Just add a little more to the shame that these guys should be, but aren't feeling.

45 years of futility and then 3 years of success and everyone hates us.

You guys remind me of us from like 2003-2008.

I understand this line of thought.

The Kings only win when they absolutely need to. Winning last night means they are more likely to stand around and play grab ass tonight.

And with all that, I'm still not confident about this game. You do have Bachman tonight.

Any word on who's starting quick or jones

Sutter never tells who the goalie will be and they weren't on the ice today. Could be Jones because of the b2b. He loves Quick, though.

ETA: Aww, Ziggy, bringing back some memories of Beavis and Butthead watching.

45 years of futility and then 3 years of success and everyone hates us.

I don't understand why. I mean, when you win, everyone tends to hate you solely for that. Maybe Brown helps with the hate, lol.

I can't even remember what it's like to not only win, but to not hate hockey. I have a hard time even watching highlights, because it just evokes shame, jealousy, and rage.

And then the clouds parted and he ascended...

Most underrated Dman in the league imo. How has he not won a Norris yet? :shakehead
