McNabb looks like he has the tools to be a pretty good NHL defenseman. He has definitely improved this season. You could call him the Kings most improved player even though he didn't play last season. He still has a ways to go but that looks like a good pickup by DL.

I also think the plan was for McNabb to be #7 have a lot of days off and to not be a top 6 dman this year. Of course that all went to hell with injuries and Voynov.

PLAY OF THE GAME

Tanner Toffoli and Jeff Carter break out on a short-handed 2-on-1 rush. Toffoli sends a pass over to Carter, who with one hand on his stick, is able to tip the puck past Scrivens..

I am glad that it was some other city's media than ours for a change

EDIT: I thought he played well with Sekera last night too. I know it's the Oilers but Sekera/Regehr was bad from the get go.

I thoroughly agree on McNabb. He brings a bit of everything, and its being brought more steadily as the season goes by. Slow and steady he is emerging.

Kyle Clifford and Jordan Nolan have been unbelievable these past few weeks. Up there along with Carter/Toffoli. Good for them. Brown-Stoll-Williams is by far our worst line, no argument.

Agreed. Clifford and Nolan have found real chemistry with Nick Shore and that line is getting more minutes. I believe they played about 10 minutes last night. Lately they have turned from just grinding and providing energy to contributing on the score sheet, which is sorely needed.

I agree with this. I've been saying for what feels like forever, that our biggest thing to change is our bottom 6 centers. Richards and Stoll need to go. I think Nick Shore is one part of that solution. The other part will probably come from outside the organization. Hopefully Lombardi is smarter this off season and just lets Stoll walk, and more so, hopefully he can trade Richards. Maybe if he packages Richards with Weal and whatever else. He can move him. I think Jordan Weal will no be longer waiver exempt next season. I don't think Lombardi will or should have 2 rookie centers in the bottom 6. So, I think it will be time to move Weal.

agreed.
Makes me miss Tyler Pearson..when is he coming back from injury

I read yesterday that Martinez is close to skating. I haven't heard that about Pearson yet. The last blip I heard was that he is healing fast because he is young

Based on the estimates provided when he first got injuried, I think he was projected to be back by April. I haven't heard any updates though.

Alex Martinez?
