Sutter brings it every night.

Reporter "Much better game from Kopitar tonight"?

Sutter "Kopitar needs to play like this nightly, especially if we want to make the playoffs"...

Sutter brings it.

He's dead on. Sutter is the Kings very own Zen master. The whiskeyest one of all...

Zen you say?

Sutter being the bamboo. Bend but do not break!

A FEELIN' YOU!

This team needs Voynov. Yes he is not playing right now but its mind boggling that you think Muzzin is our 2nd best d-man. Doughty makes him seem better than he really is, dont get fooled.

The advanced stats say other wise.

Muzzin is still a 60% possession player away from Doughty. Muzzin still has healty defensive stats away from Doughty, and still logs 20+ minutes a night.

Playing with Greene, Muzzin is still a corsi god. Muzzin is basically carrying Greene. Since Sutter paired Muzzin with him, Greene's corsi numbers have jumped a good bit.

I find it hilarious that people are calling a guy who is currently suspended for possibly being a wife beater, the Kings second best defenseman. Are you kidding me? He was average last season. Who carried the Kings defense against the Sharks last year? Muzzin. He's the Kings second best defenseman.

Muzzin carried the Kings defense all playoff's if you ask me.

He was the number one possession Defender in the 2014 playoffs ahead of you guessed it (Doughty).

Might I add that Doughty has the most turnover's out of his peers playing his minutes IE (Weber,Suter,Suban,Letang,Karrlson). Doughty leads that category by a substantial amount.

Probably due to his minutes played, but still, it's a eye opener.

What does that 1st part have to do with the 2nd part?

Who is Voynov? Muzzin is definitely the 2nd best defender on this team. By far, until Sek...Suckera gets more games and proves himself. At times Muzzin is the best. His season has been up and down, just like the Kings.

Also not impressed by this game. Hope they don't think their good just because they beat a ****** team.

How can someone be the Kings second best defender if they aren't on the team? And let's get real, he was never the Kings second best defender. Even in 2012 when he was playing the best hockey we've seen out of him, he was at the very best third.

Jason Squirtles, our very own dedicated troll.

Do you EVER post an original thought? Or are you here just to hit and run any chance you get?

I beg your pardon? It was an honest question.

Muzzin is not our 2nd best defensman this year. He was great late last year and in the playoffs, but Regehr has outplayed him this year by a wide margin. Muzzin has been playing like a forward on D half the time. Horrible decisions, and horrible turnovers.

This team has only two Defensmen that average more goals against per 60 minutes than goals for. Muzzin is one of them, the other has only been here for 4 games.

If Jake is our 2nd best guy, we might as well pack it in. He's a shell of what he was last year.

Temporarily suspended. I'd say he's still currently on the team according to all involved.

I didn't say he is not part of the team, I said he doesn't play for the LA Kings, which he doesn't.

How can someone be the Kings second best Defender when they don't actually play for the LA Kings.

Well Muzzin has given up a lot a goals. But his last ten games are encouraging.

He was a -10 just four weeks ago, that's down to a -2. Mostly playing with Matt Greene of all people.

That pass in the first period right to the Oilers shows how Muzzin has rocks for brains. He also made an extremely soft play along the boards that resulted in Edmonton's first goal, and he had quite a few close calls in the third period as well.

I always feel uneasy when Muzzin is bobbling the puck, which happens quite often. The guy must have tunnel vision. How else do you explain that horrendous turnover against the Panthers?

He did something similar last year on a turnover I won't forget, it was against the Wings, and he panicked, got blasted behind his own net, turned the puck over and it ended up in the net.

He has the potential to be better, but he is such a high risk factor on the ice.

As Long as Muzzin's possession numbers, and production stay healthy. I am fine with his turnovers.

Hell, Doughty turns the puck over, a lot . Doughty just has the elite skill, and skating to make up for it.

Gotta look at the overall game. Otherwise Regehr is better than Doughty. Jake has had trouble at times, but so has everyone else on the team. He brings offense along with good defensive play with the occasional () center ice blind toss . Jake when paired with Doughty gets the harder assignments too.

He was a -10 just four weeks ago, that's down to a -2. Mostly playing with Matt Greene of all people.

And this is very impressive. Almost crazy since everyone was calling out Greene the past few games (not today).

It really is, cause like I said.

Muzzin is still on the correct side of the corsi battle, paired with Greene of all people.

It's just mind boggling.

It is encouraging, but the main reason is because he's drawing way weaker assignments. It's absolutely where he belongs. Jake cannot hang playing against the top opposition with DD.

I think Jake could thrive in that role (just like Martinez does), but that's why I don't think the guy is our 2nd best defensmen. Those types can handle all situation on the ice consistently.

Good win and all, but it was to be expected. Everybody would be foaming at the mouths and convulsing as they type expletives if this was a loss!

Drew Doughty is the only guy that can hang with Doughty playing top pairings.

No one else on the Kings can play Doughty's minutes, or play as consistent as him, at an Elite level. Probably no one in the Entire NHL can besides Weber.

Doughty is not a measuring stick.

Someone like A-Mart,Slava,Muzzin,Mitchell are.

Jake Muzzin's best corsi among all defenders while being paired with Drew Doughty over the last two season would disagree.
