Or Sutter may have to get out of his comfort zone and stop playing grinders on every line....

Yeah you're right team is done... was a good run while it lasted....

Done?

Sure hope you were being sarcastic.

Lol. Hard to be mad when you're at nearly 70% Corsi for the game, but the same issues that have plagued us in the past plague us now--lack of getting to the front of the net to capitalize and a few moments of breakdown. These charts are good for comic relief, though.

And this is the problem with Corsi.... Calgary sat back in a PK style defense.... keep guys to the outside... keep body position on them... let them wear themselves down by grinding in the offensive zone... then counter attack with speed when you get the chance. Flames got up by 2 and just pk'd the rest of the game. So Kings had a 70% corsi, but were clearly out played.

Frustrating to watch but we're missing a few of key players right now. If we lose against EDM tomorrow I'll be upset.

Example of Sutter's grinders on every line.

King/Kopi/Carter
Brown/Stoll/Williams
Clifford/Richards/Nolan
Pearson/Lewis/Toffoli

Yeah I'm done... just wasn't mentally prepared for Gaborik to be out... Kings without Gaborik are right back to the 29th ranked offence version of the Kings of last year. Not one thing has changed.

Yeah if Gaborik played I'm sure he would've knocked some of those rebounds in to at least tie the game. The team just couldn't finish.

Not at all. Guess you missed the rest of my post. Kings have done this in the past as well--dominate possession but just don't get to the net. We were having our way with them in their zone outside the shot blocks--which ill give them credit for--but how many pucks did Hiller have traffic or a player whacking away? The Homer-Simpson-Boxing strategy isn't intentional. It just works some nights.

Yes something has...we got worse on defense

The Kings still need another top line skilled winger or a 2nd line center if Carter stays on the wing. The Kings need a patrick kane type of player to be a more complete team. Until Sutter is gone (retired), we won't see skill in the lineup or if it is...it won't be used right (Toffoli/Pearson).

As far as I'm concerned, Nolan is done on this team. He no longer has the drive or the skill he had when he was brought up. He no longer fights, hits or even attempt to anything that warrents his icetime. The lazy back check on goal 1 was just pathetic. He coasted all the way through the neutral zone and watched as the flame player blew right by him . There are plenty of hungry guys in Manchester right now that could do more than what he does. Richards deserves someone who can actual play and won't have a pass explode or be fumbled when it hits his tape.

Sutter not happy about a lot of things but praised effort of Jeff Carter who was clearly not feeling well

Wonder if we'll see Carts tommorow

Sutter basically wants to make the playoffs. But, geez, the team is playing with fire...

You said it. My problem is that to me while we have played very well at times since Voynov's suspension I can't really say that we have flat out dominated anyone or gone on a stretch where we played like we did over the past few seasons. Here is hoping we pull it together because I have no doubt in our ability to win and win big when we do so.

The Flames have our number a little bit lately. Hopefully we can bounce back against Edmonton.

Epic game. Calgary again puts up the blue print on how to destroy the Kings...

Man I really don't want the Kings to be the 2nd team to lose to the Oilers in over 20 games.... :(.... got to get a win tomorrow....

Missed McNabb's hits....

Honestly, I think I would just laugh if this happened. Would sum up this season nicely.

Agreed.

Sweet man bun but send Nolan packing to The Isles.

That's why everyone who talks about corsi says how one game sample size are too small to take any real evaluations from. Shots were 27-15, same thing.

That was ridiculous. That was such a preventable goal, Muzzin had his man and the whole team was already in the defensive zone but Nolan didn't have the effort to stop one guy from getting past him.

By the way, we're still repeating, so no need to whine about a December regular-season loss to a regular-season team.

Listened on the radio here and there. It was just a bleh game I guess. Just win tomorrow. Carts get better. Gaborik get better too!

Since his suspension last season, Nolan's game has fallen off a cliff.

Nolan has never recovered.
