Don't take this the wrong way, but who cares? Lines rarely stay consistent and with the way the team has been playing, they shouldn't.

It's usually a hot topic. That's why I was surprised no one had made a comment up to that point.

Personally, I think the lines should remain consistent. I know Sutter is moving people around, and trying to find the right fit to generate some offense. Ultimately, I trust his judgment. Just hope we get the 70s line back up and running.

And of course, Gaborik........get the **** off the shelf, Gab.

Not picking on you specifically, but this is a weird expectation to me. I mean, it never happens, like ever, on any team. I'm not sure how you would even do it but it would be an interesting exercise to see across the league, what was the line that stayed together for the most consecutive games last season. I'd bet it wasn't more than 10 games. Whether it be coach's decision, injury, guys getting traded, mumps, whatever. Lines just don't stay together.

In any case, speaking about the lines, who knows. Maybe Kopitar is still injured and that's why he's getting some help. We've all seen him play like dog **** before, but he looks different out there. Bad passes, perimeter play, and not shooting are hallmarks of his regular season play, but falling down all over the ice and getting out-muscled are not. He just looks off.

I know that some people are pissed that Kopitar is playing like ass and he's getting "rewarded" but the bottom line is the Kings need him to get going in order to be successful. Whether that's by benching him, shoving a rocket booster up his ass, or giving him the best linemates possible, it has to happen or we're sunk.

Bingo. My thoughts exactly. Sutter's gonna Sutter, hopefully he's thinking about 110 games, not just tonight.

New lines which are better.

Arrived mid-way through rushes, but I saw 70-11-77, 23-28-14, 74-10-73, 13-22-71, 12, 15. Slava was skating with Martinez, fwiw.

Rich hammond:

Kings’ defense for Voynov skate is basically, “It was optional and he just went on a little earlier than usual.†We’ll see if NHL agrees.

Oh boy lol

@Reallisa
Understand that the Kings explained the situation to the league #voynov

Ah good.

not often every player skate in an optional skate.
Seems iffy

Yeah the only team I could think of where a line might stay together is in Vancouver. You have to assume that if both of the Sedins are healthy, they are going to play on the same line. Other than that, every team mixes lines. I guess some coaches mix some more than others. While thinking about this, I thought "well, at least keep the 70's guys together". But they haven't done squat lately to warrant that either. The Kings aren't getting the results they want so why would they stick with the same lines? On top of that, you have guys coming in and out of the line up due to injury/illness. Something has to be tweaked.

Was all excited when I remembered there was Hockey today.. then I saw the lines in the first post then got depressed....

This is much better....

Lets put a physical beat down on the weakly parsnips and ganer's!!!! Soft team!!!!

Free Voynov!

Then it might be a "Xbox, Play The Master Chief Collection" night after the 1st period.

Never been an Assassin's Creed fan.

Nor I. The story of the first one made me put it down and get as far away as I could. Just a Pejorative Slured plot that ruined the game concept, which was otherwise alright.

I did play Halo CE again the other week. Still an incredible game.

I don't pay too close attention to them but they've called up like 5 guys just this past week, and Dupis is out for the season.

The point I am trying to make is that the top line never changes, pretty much like our 70s line was locked in for a while up until recently.

Of course not all four lines and 12 forwards are always going to be the same. I just want to see more consistency on the top two lines (of course, we are talking about players being healthy, etc.). I just think it leads to better chemistry among players. Hopefully, Sutter finds the right mix and sticks with it for a while.

Much better?

The only change was right wing, Toffoli and Jordan trading places.

Anyway, GDT updated. Still no word on whether Martinez will be playing tonight or not.

Penguins?

Soo.... you think that advances your thesis that lines "should" stay the same? Given their astoundingly better post-season performances than any other team over the time when their lines stayed the same...?

Just trying to understand why this would be offered as support for your thesis -- it doesn't appear to be very helpful to the argument, where I sit.

I'm not writing a ****ing thesis. I'm posting on a ****ing Internet bulletin board.
