London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part VI

A few things:

1 - White out is a terrible idea, and done by everyone. Just like Chelsea Dagger, Sweet Caroline and Country Roads, Knights can't resist following someone else's gimmick.

2 - Would love to see McNeil take on Sim again in the playoffs without the fight rule. Won't turn out nearly as well. What a coward move.

3 - crease should be all Stone Cold's in the playoffs. No need to get cute, Elliott is clearly the better goalie right now

4 - Bring back the Monty-Barkey-O'Reilly line for the playoffs. It was a dominant #1 line, giving us 2 with Cowan-Julien-Haltunnen. Nicholl-Nurmi-Sim and Van Gorp-Van Bommel-Read/Boulton/Aboflan to round it out.
You hit the nail on the head with number 1. It is so annoying just doing EVERYTHING that EVERYONE else does. Absolutely nothing during a Knights game is an original idea. They are all ripoffs from other Junior and Pro teams. You can't tell me there is not enough money in the budget to hire someone to actually come up with ONE original feature to a Knights game!

Also agree the with the rest of course, but #1 is the thing that pushes my buttons and is the one thing I am embarassed about being a Knights fan.

Did MacNeil not pull Sim’s helmet off? Looks like it in the video, may explain why Sim was loosing it in the box.

Greentree with 2 games for the Dickinson hit.

From ice level, fist was closed. It wasn't a grab or pull, hammer fist hit helmet, helmet went off.

I get what you're saying, since it's from the bottom of the hand/hammer fist, but it wasn't a pull or grab.

He's a rookie but he's southpaw so it's a different fight stance.

Under the radar Knughts who have been good all year:

Woolley
Van Gorp
Read
Van Bommell

Kudos to these guys. Absolute warriors. Next year big roles incoming for them all. Very happy with their development. Especially Woolley who has really turned out to be a nice Defender. Uses his size and skating ability well.
I agree. Woolley is also a tough customer when he has been challenged.

I feel like Hagens missed the boat in not coming here. His exposure and opportunity to improve here would have been great. This upcoming nhl draft is centred around the ohl(Misa, Martone, Schaefer)

I feel that William Moore might have bigger regrets. Hagens knew he was going to a powerhouse in Boston College and would be between Leonard and Perreault all year. Moore was on a below average USNDP team (compared to years past). Hagens dropping from #1 to top 5 isn't that surprising. Moore going from top 10 to potentially outside the 1st round is not ideal.

For sure. I also think Fagan II has come along nicely as the season has progressed. Tough kid. Gave the Spirit player a couple tastes of a knuckle sandwich last Friday night
Agreed, although he has to start thinking the game better at this point. He has all the physical tools and skating that is needed. Just needs to make better decisions.

Same can be said about Spencer. He has a brain for the game but his slow legs seems to let him down early on but as of late you can really see he has been working on his footwork.

Spencer can work this offseason to improve his speed and be back next year as a solid contributor

I’m sure it’s been said on here before but Knights have been DOMINANT this year.

Up 12 points league wise from the next team.

Most goals for. Fewest goals against. Second best powerplay. Best penalty kill. 8 players at a point a game or very close to it. 2 of the top 5 goalies this year (stats wise)

There is quite a bit of editing here I have noticed, cutting time from the corner where it all start to straight into the swinging already in progress, 3 to 4 seconds missing from the real time action, Sim was trying to move away and picking up his stick, and that is missing. Does anyone have the uncut version ?

I am saddened by the white House Of Green shirts this year (I wont buy one). Also the horrendous black uniforms with the laser Green lettering and numbers and Spider Knight crest. It seems like the Marketing department has no idea about the History or traditions of the Knights and are driven by transactional ideas.

Granted the Knights have saturated the market with the Green, Black and White uniforms of the Hunter era.

A buck is a buck, is a buck, is a buck....

George is the best goalie in the league and it is not even close. All 20 GM's and all 20 coaches would pick him to be there goalie in a one game elimination game.

The fact that they even have a playoff chance is 100% because of Carter, kid has carried that team. Having a .907 while sporting 3.44 is crazy. Without going through the exercise I would hazard to guess that there is no other goalies in the past 10 years who would have an above .900 if there GAA is about 2.75.

I think there are 8 goalies >0.900 SV% & >2.75 GAA right now.
I also think think Carter is the best goalie in the league. But the goalie of the year has to be Elliot at 31-1, 2.11, 0.924 imo.

Who do you want for round 1?

It is hard to pinpoint exactly a player without seeing him in action first, but since the team will lose their power forwards by next year, unless they have some in their system, you would imagine it is this type of players they will likely be looking at. Someone who is big and strong with skating ability with good hands (à la Montgomery kind), perhaps someone like Chase Partridge or Alex Campeau maybe, if one is available. My personal opinion, of course.

I think he was asking who do you think will play London in round 1 of the playoffs?
