London 4 Flint 1
Medvedev outstanding stopping 37 of 38 shots for a .973 save %.
I like Fimis... dependable d-man, high hockey IQ. Nice to see him score his 1st in the O.
Even Fagan chipped in with a goal.
Team playing well despite a depleted lineup.
I'm guessing Nichol has yet to recover from the injury that knocked him out of the last game.
I'm a big Hawery fan... anxious to see if he remains a Knight.

According to Stubbs, Nichol has an illness. Absence not related to injury last game. Stubbs also said Hawery has an illness.

Mem cup is way different from just OHL. Dont think anybody can be crowned for that.

I am not a huge fan of London either but I’m just being real- barrie and Oshawa are going to beat eachother up probably in the east finals and londons gonna get a clear path to the championship. Nobody and I mean nobody in the west is beating them in a 7 game series.
Until proven wrong, I’m not convinced Kitchener isn’t gonna add…

I’m an Oshawa fan but I’m also objective about with my assessments. And unless Oshawa or Barrie make some MASSIVE accusations at the deadline that instantly gel with the team, even with a clear path to the finals, neither has any hope of dethroning London .

Barrie doesn’t have the game breaking talent to compete and Oshawa doesn’t have the depth to compete.

Allen looks unbelievable. His lateral quickness and overall skating is even better then advertised.

I see why Hunter paid what he did. I think we landed the best option possible.( Gibson included).
Cam Allen is a right-handed Isaiah George. Same kind of IQ and skating prowess, just a bit more offensive game, but a little less of a shutdown D than George was…

I was at the game today and Boulton had an excellent game. He was out there to protect the two kids (Gerber and Bidgood) and he did a great job with a pretty regular shift. Laid the body, hustled and made a few good defensive plays and almost scored. For anyone that thinks he doesn’t belong in the lineup, you don’t understand hockey. (And yes, Boulton needs to be smarter than he has but the point is his play makes a difference especially to his teammates).

Even when Barkey and O’Reilly have an off night we still have the depth to pull through. Meds is I think the best goalie I have ever seen in a Knights uni…… I declare recency bias but the claim still stands.

7/10

7/10 rating

Houser, Parsons, Houle, Chiarello, Braithwaite, Dennis, Brochu, Mason, Simpson ( one of these players actually won CHL player of the year ;)) and I'm leaving out a couple from the 70s n 80s who didnt have great #s based on the era but were great tenders......plus the ones that made the show from the last 20 years in Hutch, Stolarz n others.... and I'm sure I left a couple of the posters favs out.

I like the kids game but the hyperbole on this and how great you feel this team is comparatively in history n vs this year vs peers ......how long you been watching this team?
Is not an attack just a question cause as you've stated, definitely a recency bias.

If he proves to be the best Knights tender ever, I'll be first in line to applaud. But as of now there is a long way to go to even have that convo. He is on a great team n that helps.

Letting things play out n being a bit humble ain't a bad thing.

( I did hear very good things about the kid from people in MM AAA)

Fair rebuttal.

I have been a STH since 2002, traveled across the country on a few occasions to MCs, but low, I am but a fan.

I say recency bias as I can’t remember well the last outstanding draft eligible goalie that stood out as London often goes to the older veteran and the rookies are true backups. This is really a year that demonstrates that London has two capable starting goalies in an all out go for it year. I know I’m not crazy Medvedev has made a case to start the conversation with comparison to those you mentioned.

He may plateau but he is on track to get some serious attention.

I've said it plenty of times...if he sticks to hockey and cuts out the BS he's a good 4th liner.

Fair enough. Cheers. 99 here so same time frame. But always a fan previous.
I'd add, since you had tics that MacD n Coleman ( MacD/Coleman replaced by
better twosome in Coleman/Dennis)
For me Houle was a great great WHL add a few years earlier n suggested by Mark n Dale's pops.
For me it's Houser, Parsons, Brochu based on whatever people like in tenders.
Speaking only of Jr as others have had more success in the pros. I ain't no goalie scout lol.

We have been very fortunate in London with the tenders we have had the last 3p years ( in spite of some of the squawking lol)

I can….

Tyler Parsons ;)

He wasn’t drafted until after he won the Memorial Cup.

Ironic considering the historical strength of the London goalies that the goaltending failed so miserably on a fairly deep 08/09 Knights team. Really hate to center out individual players (even years later) as I believe you win/lose as a team but the number of weak goals Cann let in against Windsor probably cost them that series.

Generally, goaltending has been a position of strength for London but strong defensive hockey makes goalies look good.

We can talk in PM but all I'll say here is he had a concussion earlier in the year and feel it affected his play thru that season. Kid played pro hockey ( not nhl but pro) so he got over the issues from that year and was a U17/ U18 tender.
But agreed some back breaking goals esp the one from the boards above the dot by their import. He was off and it was IMO because of playing thru an injury. They has no one else to turn to so he carried the ball. Not on him IMO. ( but yes soft goals but context neccessary)
Great series thou ( one of the most exciting Ive seen) n I think the team that scored first lost every game and did they all go to OT?

A great win tonight. 7 regulars out of the line up. No problem. Just amazing to see the solid defensive game (and great goaltending) and the determination to win the game. Every player and the coaching staff deserve our applause.
