I just don’t see Hawery going anywhere. A guy doesn’t do what he did to land in London saying “don’t draft me as it’s London or no OHL” to then be traded from a Memorial Cup contending team a month into the season. The optics for future youngsters would look really bad and no way Mark would risk it. Not to mention he probably is the “next one” we build around for the next 2-3 seasons?

Very true. It would be nice to get him in the lineup a bit more

I don't know if you folks have noticed the same, Jared Woolley is starting to really take charge on defense, his play is starting to look like George back there, I am amazed of his transformation
I don’t see it that way if I’m being honest, but everyone has their opinion. George had elite skating. And I would like to see Woolley take players out of the play and assert himself physically if I’m being honest. He doesn’t have the same skating abilities as George so you have do other things better.

I still think we need that stalwart Defensive Defenseman that can shutdown the best team’s offensive line.

So Andrew Gibson is the first target because he’s also right handed and one of the best shutdown D (He actually shutdown Cowan well). Second is, Cam Allen. 3rd is the unknown player that Mark will bring in to be our “Jacob Graves” for like a 5th round pick.

A few weeks ago Wooley was a liability, but the last few games his foot speed and physicality has vastly improved.

The Knights haven't officially announced it yet, but Jeff Marek posted it.

Jeff is usually a pretty reliable source, so I would say it is done. But of course, nothing is done till it is officially posted by the team and even then we have the mysterious Zakharov post haha.
Remember the time the same writer said Shane wright was traded to London?

Not official until it is official

What’s the deal with Jacob Monks? When is he coming?

Your post makes a lot of sense, I was just curious, are you taking the two-year differential between the two, or are you seeing Woolley at the very level as George was his last season. In my post, I was stating Woolley was "starting" to look like George, give another 2 years (this year and next)

I am with you, would love to see another D coming in before the trade deadline, preferably a shutdown D one

Please don't compare Woolley to George.

Very true. It would be nice to get him in the lineup a bit more
He's at u17s.

And when he's back, we all know the process with young players. Learn the defensive game better and you'll then get more ice

Woolley is nothing like George other than they are both defenceman. That’s an insult to George to compare the two lol
Forgot already, George is 2 years his senior, forgot how George played at the beginning of his 18-year-old season, I didn't, he was real good, yes, and he was still very much so in his development years as is Woolley right now at the beginning of his own 18-year-old season. Let's come back in two years time and see how Woolley did after his final year of junior, maybe I'll wish I never wrote this post, but I doubt it very much

Currently 10-4 with just 8 more goals for (53) than goals against (45). Don't know if that means anything but thought it was interesting.

Interesting, but probably means as much as the fact they are 9-1 with 13 more goals for than against since Cowan, Bonk, and Barkey returned. Still a small sample size, but we know we have a good team!

History shows you’re correct.

Small part of me thinks they’ll go all in with the number of veterans rostered. Objective part says they’ll tweak on the periphery market and not overpay, as they usually do.

When the Montgomery signing is confirmed, you have 16 forwards. This does not include the remote chance of Halttunen appearing or Brendan Gerber who should probably be playing in the OHL right now.

Montgomery
Cowan
Barkey
Julien
Sim
Nurmi
Aboflan
Read
Boulton
O’Reilly
Nicholl
Van Gorp
Van Bommel
Hawery
Bidgood
Arrowsmith

Have to find some places for some of these kids to play. Hawery will be brought along slowly and scratched sometimes as posted by others.

The rest of that group (unbolded) is 17 years old or older and need ice time.

My thought is - get some picks back for 2-3 forwards. They get a regular shift in their new home and everyone including parents and agents are happy, hopefully.

I’m sure Mark and staff are working on clearing the logjam as we speak.

Drafted forwards: Cowan, O’Reilly, Barkey, Nicholl, Montgomery, Nurmi

OA forwards: Sim, Julien

Draft year forwards: Arrowsmith, Bidgood, Read, Gerber

D+1/D+2: Boulton, Aboflan, Van Bommel, Van Gorp

I think in theory the top 9 forwards should be the drafted forwards + OAs and Van Gorp. The issue is playing time for the draft year forwards and getting them the ice to show themselves to scouts.
