I just wanted to say that I was impressed that the London organization put poppies on the helmets of all the players for Remembrance Day. Very respectful and classy.
Very demure, very mindful, very ethical.

JK

As a combat veteran I appreciate the effort the organization puts in to recognize our service. Most people see veterans as a 1 day per year afterthought.

Boulton getting suspended again is problematic for his future.

That is already his third suspension this season and you can bet the repeat offender profile will hurt him down the line….. A LOT of season left.

He has already used his ‘fight allowance’ aswell.
So he will be suspended every time he fights.
Honestly what is the Boulton’s family purpose in the OHL? Both of them spend more time suspended than they do playing.

Don’t take it as a jab either. It just seems wild to waste a spot on the team for someone of that nature. I’m sure others would love that opportunity he has to play in the OHL.

Can you give us more insight into the OHLs Players First training program? Since you seem to have been through it.
I can just imagine who on the other side lol.
I have sat thru MM, JrC, JrB diversity trainings in the past 10 yrs ( not the last 4 ) They spell it out fairly clearly. Do players n coaches hear the message....sometimes a different story.

Still living and enjoying life ;), never got hurt from little chirping, did not need a helmet to protect me from words

Just making a point here, I do realize the game has evolved a lot, and protection is a necessity nor days, just saying words don't hurt, if someone is hurt by them, perhaps hockey is not for him
Ok I had to unignore much to my own mental health lol.
Words don't hurt? As soeone who has been involved with sports teams involving teens, training involving teens, a partner who works as a child life specialists words can and do definitely hurt some. To the point of suicide but carry on.
Yes, you are right, I am ok with the slurs, how much harm does it do in a game of hockey where fun is the name of the game, now if I was anywhere else, that could be a problem, this is no longer a game, it becomes serious. But in a game, got to be able to connect between the two here, common !
You got no clue as to how much it can hurt individuals, families and communities. Worst take ever and shows an outdated archaic mind set towards mental health.
We are not yo far removed from 2 examples where kids in this league had had enough for whatever reason. But keep on pumping your individual mindset that 50 plus year ago it didn't hurt you so its ok. Thank God your not in any position of authority to set current societal guidelines in youth sports.

You said they don't know what not yo say, put it in rule book. It's very clearly laid out to them by league staff and contracted experts with real examples.

What a joke

I think the changed is summing up how wrong the game has come to
And how wrong it was when u played 50 years ago. Things changed.

FP same guy who said never say anything negative about a players game cause they may read it here lol.

You couldn't be more wrong, my friend, hockey players must find a way to get away from the protection of mommy and daddy, words do not hurt, especially in a game of sort, someone needs to let some players know that
Incorrect based on talking to actual players the last 10 years. And their families.

No excuses for Sim or what he said as I got no idea. Others say stuff, no idea of specific examples heard and ignored by officials or league, happened 50 years ago so why is it not ok now....dont care, targeted ny league, dont care. . He gave the officials a chance to call it, got caught and got spanked.
Good news is another player gets 5 games to make an impact or show their stuff.
Better news if Sim learns from it and does it no more and is a positive for the team n community moving forward.
Best news is whatever he said was water off a ducks back n did no harm to whoever he said to.

What was that site that was just the best div in the OHL almost every year? OS,KTown, London.......
Kinda between Noof and HF times
I forget the main site name but the Ranger room was called Ranger Rush. The main admin was a guy called Eagle Vision. I think the O.S. room was called Electric Ice.
Is that what you were thinking about?

The dude is OK with using things like the n-word on the ice, says everything about him. " just words" and "entertaining"

2. Do me and yourself a favor, go back to the ignore button
3. I do have a clue, yes. Are we assuming here the suicides are directly caused by slur words, do we have proof on death certificates, if there are no facts, it is an assumption once again, you know the drill rve24
4. Out of context, Read the entirety of the posts

You can silence me, now ;) !

Isaiah George’s head-turning Islanders start shouldn’t surprise anyone

His fourth NHL game was Tuesday night against the Oilers, and it is already becoming clear that if he keeps it up, the Islanders will need to make room for him in the lineup once they get healthy.

“I write it down. I tell myself that I can play at this level and be successful,” George told The Post. “So I always had that internal belief and put it in my mind. Definitely looking at the pathway, looking at the direction that most players take, I was definitely surprised to get that opportunity this early.”

Yes! TY.
Still remember a post of mine when London was up in a series.
"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbour?"
Took a bit of flak on my history knowledge til someone stepped and referenced Animal House n Belushi lol.
As on HF the "Rags" board was always a good read with knowledgeable fans.

Proof on a death certficate? Really you actually think that happens lol. Keep digging. That was a smarteded response lol
Keep on showing your ignorance on the subject.
I read all your posts on the subject oldtimer. Funny thing is you can't do the same lol. Keep on supporting slurs, racial, religious, sexusl taunts on ice by players and expect yo get called out. And yes you have said as much. Society doesn't brush it under the rug anymore. Say you support it I'll call it out.

No need to silence you or the things your supporting kids do n say in a game played by kids when we know what we know about mental health. Better to let you keep on to help educate others on why the issues still exist.

Again you been away from it for a while and I'll stand %1000 behind convos I've had with kids in hockey, high-schools, parents, volunteer work n my partners experience as child life specialist as to the effects over your 1970s culturally acceptable norms in hockey any day.

So if slurs are ok why you get bent outta shape if someone xalls out a players actions, limitations on the ice on this board. Seems hypocritical. Betcha won't answer.

Not even you can be this ignorant lol. Your doing it now for a reaction.
Do yourself a favour and get in touch with a few support groups, mental health units, teen suicide Prevention sites and get some education before we need to call an extraction team to get your foot out of your mouth.

It's an culture that needs to stop, not be supported.

And yes I know 3 families directly affected by this stuff and people like you who support it under guise of its a game, it's joking, it's no big deal, get over it, it's not on the death certificates...
.....I did.
But I'm sure coach you'll spin n explain why your right.

End of the day here. Sim will likely learn from this and be extremely effective moving forward!
That's my hope along with the game culturally moving forward from "cultural norms" that existed 20/35/50.... years ago

;)It's a game, the temp goes up with the action, you should know that, bad words are said in the heat of action, everything's goes right back down to normal after the game, apologies are made and everybody go home and tomorrow is a new day and a new game. That is how it should be, but no, league has to get involved, peoples are getting involved and are pitted against one another, players are caught in the middle of it all, All they want is play a game, tease each others and have fun, peoples are so damn serious, that it is currently wrecking our game, it is so sad, really is. but who cares, not many I guess

I am not sure hockey is the best game or place for anyone diagnosed with mental issues, at least for a certain time until it is safe to play again for the kids, it has to be safe for both the kid himself and also the ones he's playing against as well

Ok coach lol, as I said you wouldn't answer. You've shown you know nothing of the education players get annually on exceptable words/actions thru leaague supported education programs Otto brought and I can attest yo being in......

And again the ignorance shown here with this statement.....
«I am not sure hockey is the best game or place for anyone diagnosed with mental issues, at least for a certain time until it is safe to play again for the kids, it has to be safe for both the kid himself and also the ones he's playing against as well"
Here is another tip for ya I bet you ignore. Most kids at that age don't have diagnosed mental health issues, and even if one does you wanna exclude them from playing a game cause slurs, taunts, religious, sexual comments should be allowed. That's another kevel you've gone to lol. That will help....
Just isolate them as the problem , my gosh.
Wanna tell them not yo go to school as well in case it happens, Don't get a job in case it happens. Your unreal.
It, hockey, sports in general should be a safe place with multi levels of support for all is how I look at it. Guess you don't. Sad you feel that way about a great game.
