If Halttunen ends up coming back I cant see another top 6 player being brought in. Cowan, Barkey, O'Reilly, Nurmi, Julian, Halttunen should be the top 6 on paper, putting Sim, Van Gorp, Nicholl as the best 3rd line in the league + they are all currently around ppg mark. That top 9 could be shuffled around in any order but to drop one of those players to the 4th line for luchanko wouldn't sit well.

I am having a problem with this very statement, "Playing against the league's best night after night with a team that demands excellence would allow him to acclimate to the higher intensity and tactical discipline required at the NHL level", as if Guelph, in the very same Division and opponents, does not play against the very same opponents as do the Knights. He is playing on the Guelph's top line now, he may not in London, how does this help him?

We all know he would be getting top line minutes he’s an absolute stud + if you want to talk about development & getting more ice time I got that covered here - knights will probably play more 20 games in playoffs then Guelph will that’s alot of extra ice time and games that is big for development

Yup! I see someone have missed a ship here. Talking about Luchanko's mental toughness to prepare him for higher levels, not how talented he is, we all know he's got the talent, the mental toughness to work his physical talent is what should really sets him apart. Or perhaps I'm the one on the wrong boat here. ;)

Maybe they trade someone from the top 9? Van Gorp or Nicholl could be part of a package and then someone drops to the 3rd line instead of 4th line.

Could something like Van Gorp, Bidgood and something like 3 2nds and 3 3rds for picks get a deal done?

Maybe something like this after the trade?

Halts - Barkey - Cowan
Luchenko - O'Reilly - Nurmi
Nicholl - Sim - Julien
Boulton - Hawery - Van Bommel

Extra:
Aboflan - Arrowsmith

So after reading this I took a quick trip into either @LDN s mind or 2016 George Burnett but if the knights are going to spring for Luchenko could they maybe put together an even better package and shore up the D with Allen too or is that crazy talk?? One stop shopping like a more expensive Winterton, Humphry situation...

I like that type of move. Remind me is Allen one of the best defenders in the league or more of a puckmover?

Recently, despite reading extensively about the potential benefits that London could bring to the players (Musty and Luchenko), there has been a lack of information regarding their potential contributions to this team. Is Mark looking to set his team for the new player, or for the new player bringing something to his team. So far, it has been all about what London would do for the player, and not the other way. Van Gorp is not the best player on the Knights, but he sure is the very best spark plug on this team. IMHO

So are they loading/trying to hang on to Musty?
Well I'll say this first as a fan my thought would be rebuild this year and next.

That said after the Flint trade management did say they still intend to contend. Also reinforced with the press release after Musty requested a trade that they want a deal that makes the team better. So seems management isn't stripping it down yet like North Bay last year.
