If I'm trading for a star player, I would go for Musty. A more dominant player at this point, and less likely to have to trade Hawery as part of the deal.
The only way I'm considering trading Hawery to Guelph is if that Cam Allen fella is part of the deal coming back here as well.
All in all though, Hawery would be a no-deal.

Would London be considered for an AHL or PWHL team? What kind of support would said team likely get?
Lmao....is it that time of the year again for you to talk about this....again.

Edit....did not see the PWHL....saw the AHL and just thought here we go again.

You guys are right though we really do need to go all in this year. This will be the end of an era for our team with Bonk, Barkey, Cowan, and likely Dickinson. We are so close, and Londoners need another parade!

Need to go somewhat all in. And just know now that NCAA allows players to play In the OHL and then NCAA, we could see more Americans join our team again with later round picks in the draft. Maybe not, but here’s hoping.

Get a solid stay at home Dman in Andrew Gibson or Mattew Andonovski, and get whatever else you can to help up front and we should be on our way.
I could actually see Mark being an aggressive buyer this year because of the players you mentioned being gone next year. London can rebuild quickly. I could also see Mark standing pat or making small tweaks. I’m not convinced they’re settled with their overagers just yet. Just speculation on my part.

Ya we could really do a one shop does all trade with Guelph. Allen would round out a deep defensive corps with being a RHD, and could you imagine if Jett Luchanko was centering Barkey - Luchanko - Cowan. That line would be electric!

A reminder the last time we traded for two players from Guelph in the same year we won the Memorial Cup. Kudos to those people who remember who those players are….

That’s the only way I would give up Hawery is for them both. Gerber would also be a good candidate to trade with Guelph as he needs playing time and would be closer to home. Then maybe a defender as well plus some picks would do it.

Similarly comparable to the Del Maestro and Del Bel Belluz trades a couple years ago from Sarnia but would be a little richer this time around for the Knights as we would be getting better calibre players.

Gee throwing Gerber in with Hawery for both Allen and Luchanko... thanks. LOL. Those two combined would cost more than those two players with the limited picks you have.

Allen and Luchanko would fetch Hawery, Arrowsmith, Fagan, 3 2nds, 3 3rds plus.

Sorry @StormWatcher. I meant to say that’s where we would start with Hawery and Gerber lol but it got too long of a post and I got off track and forgot to mention that. Ya add a defenseman and 3 second round picks and 3 thirds and that’s a good trade.

If that’s the deal, where do I sign?

If by some miracle and I mean miracle we were able to get Luchanko and Allen, that might challenge the 2005 team as deepest team in history.

Halttunen seems to be a healthy scratch for the Barracuda tonight, just saying
Why are people cheering to have a player fail at the next level?

The CHL is a development league, we should be cheering for all the players to make the next step in their career. I hope we do not see Halttunen back in London and that he excels in the AHL.

We don't need an import just for the sake of having an import, if he is going to come in and be a productive player, absolutely! Don't forget though, Semyonov is 17 years old and in 5 USHL games has put up 1 assist this year. It is going to take time for him to develop and adjust to North American game, I would say it is unlikely he comes to London and makes an immediate impact. I would say Semyonov is more of a next year or 2 years down the road player for London.

There is always the righteous people on here. We always want the success of our players whether and it’s ok to say we want Halttunen to have success again in London.

I am not rooting for Halttunen to fail, I am monitoring his progress in the AHL. He is a 19 year old kid, he is not as developed as Cowan, Lukashanko, or Ritchie and the OHL is good enough for their development.

Many put the AHL on a pedestal, there are far more elite players (at forward anyway) in the OHL. It’s not really much of a development league, it is more purgatory. Most players have a few years to graduate or that’s it as they are paid to perform, less focus on the organization being responsible for that development and more on the player.

I wish I could like this post more than once.

AHL is definitely a step up from the CHL.

I am curious to see in the next CBA how much control NHL teams have over their prospects. Definitely would impact D+2 players.

Watched the Soo beat Windsor last night, they are surprisingly good, they have a very similar system to London this year, from the two games I've seen (Sag/Soo). Let the opposition dance all around the boards and plug out the middle the best as possible. It'll be interesting to watch tomorrow night who is going to fold from their system first, or it will be a boring game

And musty requested a trade... they can't be serious. Why would London trade one of their top 6 players for another top 6 player. That's a lateral move at best
