A fourth round Sarnia pick is very close to a late third round pick on most other teams.

Forget Quentin Musty… if Guelph does end up selling, I would love to pick up Cam Allen (even if it costs us PJ Fagan). Solid two-way defenseman that is a great skater and can fill Isaiah George’s spot.

Dickinson - Bonk
Woolley - Allen
Jenken - Brzustewicz

However, I could see the Knights standing still on defense too.

its eries 4th in 2027, how do you know where it will end up in two years?
Fiesty today :) Ya, some of thoughts on these forums aren't grounded in reality ;)

Was Niagara not interested? Maybe that's a 2nd a 4th then lol.

Doesn't really matter to me late 3rd, 4th or which teams pick....it's often where LK takes a "gamble" on a higher rated player other teams have shyed away from. But ya earlier is better.

Just another example of utilizing assets n flipping redundant players or players that might not quite fit in the mold MH wants. Always good to have extra bodies and a willingness to move them to add picks, n give the player a shot elsewhere.

And how do you know lol. It’s not unreasonable at all with Fagan as a piece with picks.

Maybe explain yourself or contribute with your reasoning. Let’s have a conversation instead of these trolls going on other boards and posting just to troll

That was just a subtle shot at the continual futility in Sarnia. That pick will most likely get flipped before 2027.

fair

i know george brunet and i know fagan is all i would tell you

hes the best trader in the ohl, scraps for top picks. i dont know they are the best drafting team (but have done decent in the last few years), but they manage assets like no ones business.

Ya just like when you said the Knights aren’t expecting Kasper Halttunen back and then the LFP article specifically said that Mark Hunter expects Kasper Halttunen to be back. And that was a direct quote lol

lol, what does one have to do with the other, and has san jose sent him back?

your right, i never post things that actually happen

Northern Quebec ( Abitibi Québec)

I do not like this deal. He was ripping it up and looked truly ready to contribute even if he's an 05.
Casualty of the logjam maybe but there should be some spots available early in the season and over the world junior timeframe and potentially injuries.
I agree, Mark always sensitive to player needs, responding to a player career advancement, Kaedan Johnston looked really good in pre-season with Knights top players missing. That is no guaranty he would get that same ice time in regular season once the Knights gets their full team back. Keadan's hard work earned him this trade to Sarnia that is surely going to give him more chance at top level of ice, we wish him the very best and looking forward to follow his further development

Ya if you look at the total picture since buying in to the league ( and LK specifically) they have pivoted often in how they acquire n manage assets. But they important part is looking for advantages n managing assets whatever the rules.
Draft high early in the regime and flip 2 WJ players to help build the 2005 squad adding key pieces via trade ( Dennis n a couple D)
( also got disgruntled Wideman early that helped the transition to contender but gone before 2005 ) Showed they were aggressive.
Traded up for Euro pics when ya could, using contacts to bring in AList D when drafting but then that door closed.
Playing field down south gave adv to some OHL teams early 2000s in acquiring US talent ( meckler, Kane, broadhurst, Carson, McCaron etal...)
Trade surplus talent for picks lately to give flexibility ( ty niagara)
One year had an entire homegrown squad outside the BUG and 6th D ( Nellis fav Sefton) win a championship.
Sold off when they were mid pack to bolster future years but never hot rock bottom.
Theyve avoided the usual 7-10 place finished after go for it years mostly. I love how Hamilton has done it also but London dies it without the up n downs and over a much longer stretch.
The philosophy has always been asset management but they have pivoted in how they do it. That to me is the impressive part over 20 years. Consistency, pivoting, remaining revelant
It's gotta end sometime but it's been great since 99 and then the sale to the hunters shortly after.

However London finish this 2024-25 season, I am hoping they work on ending their very last game with a no tomorrow driving force game. I am still sore on that Memorial Cup Loss, I guess. The Spirit were all offence, London were all defence, imagine what damage London could have done against a team playing no defence. Anyone could have predicted the outcome. Competing in a final game still has to go on both side of the puck, as it turned out, Saginaw won it on an offensive lucky bounce

FWIW, based on his rookie camp performance us Sharks fans are expecting Halttunen to get sent back to London. I don't think he's ready for pro hockey.

100% agree. Mark obviously knows we have some key pieces coming back as Kaeden could have contributed alot this year. What I HATE about the trade is him going to Sarnia....expect big games from him when he plays the Knights.

Thought Johnston would be first to go..Hunters know what there doing. With his 5 goals in pre-season thought he might get a 3rd round pick. I think he was a bit weak on the defensive end of the rink.
Trading a player when they are hot is usually your best option. He's obviously playing over his head so get as much as you can while you can is smart....but I still hate that he went to Sarnia.

He hasn't even come yet due to visa issues, kinda hoped that haltunnen would stick in ahl so we wouldn't have to deal with it but a good problem nonetheless

Mark Hunter has also said that he would not be surprised is he sticks in San Jose NHL or AHL.

Nothing would make me happier.

Not sure I'd rely on the Freeps ( or most local papers/media) for accurate, before its announced info ;) They (papers and hang arounders) almost all play the game. Free crap eats before the game lol

Stubbs is good thou.
