Without naming any players, I have observed one team making many errors early on in the game, one of the error was a lack of skating speed by the team. Coaches know who they were on the team and I am sure they will work with players to resolve this one of many other problems fairly soon. Cheers!
And yet ya gave me a shot for saying the same thing last week lol.

What I saw tonight was a total team effort but in a negative way. Poor defending and absent offense. Seems this team believes its own hype that they are the number 1 team in the league yet they haven't proven a thing yet. Watching this team I find it hard to believe that Cowan would make that much of a difference with how the tram has played as a whole these last two games. It's still early but thus far I'm a tad disappointed in a few players that haven't stepped up yet. I'm sure they will in time, but it would be nice to kick start their offense sooner rather than later.
Put tonight's stinker in the bin and come out gang busters tomorrow.

Tonight was a reality check that the Knights are about 3 forwards away from contending. And that’s after getting Sim back in December and Cowan soon. This team lacks scoring and could use a Diaco/Winterton trade asap. Getting two players like that to help the scoring would be nice. I don’t see a lot of goals coming from this forward crew. Now, granted the team game still needs work and it’s early.
Teams are picking up on the fact the Knights NEVER attack the net from the goal line or behind the net. Every time a player gets the puck low, it goes to the point or the slot. It would be nice to see them mix it up and crash the net a few times. That all said, I’m so happy Simpson is our goalie.

Talked with McCue’s dad Mark at Niagara game in St Kitts. He told me Rangers offered Max AHL deal but he wanted to return. Yes he is Captain material whether he gets the “C” or not.
Really!?! Listen he’s a character kid a good kid, but is he the same calibre of player as a Diaco or McGurn? Cause that’s the type of production we need from him.

Cowan is a lead by example type player. When the rest of the team sees how hard he works and how fast he skates, it can't help but rub off on the rest of them. I still think Cowan makes the top line one of the best, if not THE BEST, in the league this season!

Getting Sim's veteran presence will help as well. Obviously we could still use another scorer or two, but I also think guys like O'Reilly and Nicholl will only continue to get better and better as the season progresses.

Unfortunately, I think for a few other forwards, their days are numbered with this team unless they start making an impact......and soon! I won't mention any names, ;) but they SHOULD know who they are by now!

Will he score as many points.....no....but he adds a dimension of grit and toughness that neither Diaco, nor McGurn could provide. He's simply a different kind of player, but one who'd be willing to go through a brick wall for the team! We need guys like that too!

yes.. His effect on the team will be equal to those guys.
He might not get the points they did but he might and frankly it doesn't matter.

As far as the pandering to add in OA forward dept.
The trade for Simpson fanboys might remember the Knights gave away a quality OA forward and great team guy just to open up that spot.
I have never made a better move as an OHL GM then Mark Hunter so as a fan I'm certainly not worried 4 games in. But man some of you guys " We need Simpson to shore up our goaltending!!!"
- Here he is..
" We need an OA forward like McGurn or Diaco "
- Umm sorry contrary to what the other 19 teams fans think we aren't able to roster a team of star OAs

This team will be fine. There will likely be minor tweaks but if they need to go big fish hunting it's not going to be the year anyway.

Didn't last years Western Conference Champions have 1 point after 5 games?

Friendly wager? Namestnikov/Poitras/Bowman line puts up more points than the Cowan line.

Hard pass if I’m a London supporter. Likely a moot offer anyway since Poitras is probably Boston’s best centre already.

2020 draft really kicking London in the arse right now. Probably cost them an OHL championship last year too. Cue the laughing emojis.

I'll take that all day and twice on Sundays with Halttunen taking Wintertons spot ill say they are the best line in the league. If I was you I'd look how the playoffs went for that line they are dynamic and Cowan is a puck hound. Let's see

Absolutely! I'd take that wager against any line in the OHL!

As knightsfan90 said above.....you may want to look into how well the Barkey/Cowan/Winterton line performed in last year's playoffs. Sure, it may take Halttunen some time to adjust to North American rinks, but by the trade deadline, these three will be lighting it up!

How Easton Cowan Has Exceeded His Own Expectations at Maple Leafs Training Camp

Cowan has two points in as many games with Toronto in pre-season action.

But what has stood out most to Cowan?
"I think just how often they work out during the year," he said. "After games, day before games, I think that caught me by surprise.
"I warmed up yesterday and then got scratched so I worked out and I thought that was good. Get out there for warmups, be around the team, and workout and watch the game."
The 18-year-old has been in Toronto for a few weeks now, rooming with another prospect who's stood out: Fraser Minten. Cowan calls Minten "a pro," highlighting how good he treats his body and how he loves the game.
"I just remember watching (Mitch) Marner and (Auston) Matthews," he said. "It was cool to see those guys in person, I think that was my first time watching in person. They've got a ton of skill and just that atmosphere in that arena was loud and lots of goals that game, so it was good."
It's fairly likely that Cowan plays on Saturday night, but he remains even-keeled, just hoping to play. If the 18-year-old does get in, it'll be his final hurrah before heading back to London for a very big development year.
