Didn't meet the min game threshold. I believe rule is they don't have to be signed to a card till they play there 10th game with the team
they played in the league last year, automatically on an a card the moment they play a game.

Hounds confirm Barker is dealing with a concussion.
Normally I would say some smart aleck comment like ; "Kid has got to keep his head up or kids will learn the hard way & etc." But this is an instant where McConnell-Barker had no chance of protecting himself at all after just scoring a goal, play is supposed to be stopped, and he was in the process of celebrating. That was a dirty shot and the refs and league have got it right this time, wishing him a full and speedy recovery

Definitely was dirty. Do you think this ends up with Sawyer Boulton maybe not even returning to the Knights lineup?
Honestly I wouldn't be shocked to see him finish out the year on London, assuming he doesn't get suspended again. There were some questions why he was even brought in in the first place. He has proven that he is a 4th line player at best with terrible numbers and doesn't pass the eye test. If you look at his numbers and videos from previous seasons, this is how he has always played. I'm assuming there is more than meets the eye to him sticking around in London...

We all know he wasn't brought here because of his hockey skills. He's here to make opposing players think twice before they take a run at one of our star players, and for that, I think he is very effective. I believe he'll be here until the end of the season, or until he gets suspended permanently, whichever comes first. ;)

6-2 win over Windsor, great team effort again with young reliefs Jenken & Woolley were steady. O'Reilly 1g 1a .Gaz.. with 4pt night, Julien and everyone. Even Simpson was in the game and had a real strong game.

What can you say about Van Gorp, all over Windsor curating havoc, he could have had 4 or 5 points tonight, I am sure one day he will.

Young Boulton had a questionable hit tonight as well. I don’t really like the way they play when they cheap shot. I like their toughness but really question their judgement. I like the way Ryder hustles and he is still young. Watching tonight’s game I like the way Van Gorp does his Energizer Bunny imitation. Never stops even after he gets creamed into the boards. Gets up and back at it! Gaz with 4 helpers and Sim with two. Very nice to see.

Good Win!! Showed up to play. Owen Sound will be a good battle. I assume Barkey will be in the lineup.

Seems like a coaching issue when you have numerous players doing it...

It wasn't dirty lol they even looked at it and deemed it not a major 🤣 he's young to he will find the line some on here need to stop painting him with the same brush as his brother

It wasn't a cheap shot some on here are a little dramatic it was a hard hit that they looked at and deemed it not a Major. Btw who are the numerous players give cheap shots. The list is
S.Boulton that's it. Sounds like maybe you should find you way back to the SSM thread stop trying to stir the pot 😁

I'm not even sure the R. Boulton hit is a penalty.

The OHL rulebook defines it this way:

"Note: Blindside shall be defined as a lateral or back pressure hit to anunsuspecting and / or vulnerable opponent."

Hockey Canada has a different definition:

"Note 1: A blindside hit will be defined as an ‘open-ice body check that is delivered from an angle of approach outside a 90° peripheral point of view of a vulnerable opponent, whether or not the player has the puck. Should an open-ice body check be delivered from within a 90º angle of approach and the check is otherwise legal in all other aspects, then no penalty would be assessed."

According to the OHL rulebook, it shouldn't be a penalty I don't think. But as per Hockey Canada it is. Hmmmm.

So, if any player has their head down, and isn't looking horizontally at the field of play, then a legal approach has to be from the ice surface ???
Head down = Peripheral vision plane is altered.
I suspect that an optometrist might have difficulty interpreting this.

When you are talking about young Boulton, are you suggesting the refs had it wrong last night or are you suggesting your personal comment on the hit itself ? Or maybe you were speaking in general term about the style of both Boulton's plays ?

Myself I saw a hard and clean hit last night, and believe the refs viewing video review had it right, but it was also an unnecessary bad hit, the hit to separate a player from the puck wasn't there in my opinion. It came from face to face and shoulder to the chest, unfortunately the Windsor player (I believe it was Liam Greentree) had just made a backhand shot and was visually following the puck trajectory at the time of the hit and was not paying attention to what was coming just ahead of him. The senior Boulton hit not only was it late after the shot but was also blindsided, Soo's McConnell-Barker had absolutely no chance to protect himself or seeing S. Boulton coming. On the other hand, Sawyer Boulton had approximately 1 1/2 to 2 seconds to stopped his hit and also knew he was hitting blindsided. Video reviewed by refs on both of the Boulton hits came out right in my opinion

Most players at this level of play knows, or out to know, the danger this game brings on the ice. All players hold the responsibilities to insure their safety and that of others on the ice. All players in this game, making the hits also hold responsibility knowing the danger and damage their hits can do to players in peril positions. The game offers shared responsibilities, unfortunately punishments are not shared equally, by not being equal, it encourages, in my opinion, for more heads down roaming ice surfaces and for dangers. This league also have a responsibility to make sure all players hitting or receiving hits are held to their very own responsibilities, if a player is playing with a head down he's taking a risk and if he hit someone with a head down he's hitting a player in a peril position.
