Some thoughts on last night's game: While the Knights came up on the losing side, they did manage to outshoot the Petes by quite a significant margin.
That said, it's the quality of the chances they have to improve upon. They have to dedicate themselves to owning the low slot area where they can screen Simpson, or tip and deflect incoming shots to make his saves far more difficult to make. It also has the effect of bringing their d-men to that area to cover any Knight in that position. That will result in exposing their d-men to taking penalties ( holding, hooking, slashing, etc,)
That shot differential is also indicative of a territorial advantage. It proves that they're more than capable of competing with this opponent. Preserving that edge will have the effect of grinding down their defense and fatigue will become something they'll have to deal with. Often, the fatigue factor will lead to physical and mental errors, that could lead to better scoring chances. Owning that real estate in front of Simpson will be key to their success, and I believe they do have the personnel to do it.
