Dang Lev Katzin could have been convinced…

Fifth round pick Lev Katzin will be attending the Guelph Storm orientation camp this weekend. Highly-regarded centre previously signed tender to play with USHL Green Bay Gamblers next season.
You're probably right....Found out recently he has an older brother at Western U

The boys had a rough third period…….. Peterborough are the real deal …good all around team ….. gotta cut back on the unnecessary penalties…. gotta bury a few more goals ….back to the game plan …. I heard something at the rink last night that if true…and from a very reliable source ……..Knights and their fans will definitely in a “Happy Place”….. bring on Game 3 …..

Funny the whinning on the Petes board about refs and injuries after a win. I'm getting H Legendary flashes n vibes lol.
The team that made the most plays won each game. Simple.
Most important position on the ice.......Think about it before complaining on here Petes fans. Or don't n stay comfy one the one way street lol.
Refs didn't decide either contest either, but yet it dominates the narrative on their board......

Someone has to give Cowan a chill pill.

Love a close series and the better team will win. Let's not look for excuses.
No kidding does he think he’s tough or something

You are likely not going to get friendly calls by embarrassing officials in a building filled with nine thousands souls. The undisciplined team dug themselves a hole in the second, the emotion got high but they were not able to keep it in check, falling right into Petes' game. The Knights had everything were going nicely for them until their heads started boiling over on their side. They played into Peterborough's game plan, going after the Knights Ds worked to perfection for them, they got into the Knights heads as it was supposed to do.

Stay disciplined and on the game plan, keep on executing each role of the team system would have been better off in getting a more favourable end result. However frustrating they must keep their cooler heads in order to stay on top of their game. IMHO

Sean Reid is a terrible referee! I wouldn't let him referee tyke hockey
London did have 6 powerplays to Petes' 3 , they also had a 5 minute major PP, they only went 1 for 6, an extra call would not have better their odds. They loss because they lost their cool and they did not had players out front to pick up rebounds deflecting pucks or screen Simpson. Their effort was there but not their executions.

Referees has been part of this game for ages and for ages fans has been criticising them, nothing new happened last night. Discipline or the lack of made it worse for the home team, teams got to play through it all to win. 18 000+ eye balls were watching plays from every angle of the rink, there are only 4 referee eye balls calling plays from only two angles, Refs however good or bad can not call unseen infractions or make ups some, they also have league supervisors to answer to, and as well as future pro promotion to look forward to. IMHO

One thing we dominated in previous series was in faceoffs. Not so much in this one.

As to reffing... both teams had legit reasons to be frustrated. I spent alot of time shaking my head.

Both goalies played well. The floater from centrr was a bit of an rmbarassment but Simpson shook it off. Now, was the blueline floater on Bowen tipped off MacKinnon? Couldnt tell.

Robertsons goal. I had direct line of sight. Nobody was stopping that.

Dickinson. Unbelievable. I dont know ive ever seen a rookie defenseman play this well.

Its a series now.

Some thoughts on last night's game: While the Knights came up on the losing side, they did manage to outshoot the Petes by quite a significant margin.

That said, it's the quality of the chances they have to improve upon. They have to dedicate themselves to owning the low slot area where they can screen Simpson, or tip and deflect incoming shots to make his saves far more difficult to make. It also has the effect of bringing their d-men to that area to cover any Knight in that position. That will result in exposing their d-men to taking penalties ( holding, hooking, slashing, etc,)

That shot differential is also indicative of a territorial advantage. It proves that they're more than capable of competing with this opponent. Preserving that edge will have the effect of grinding down their defense and fatigue will become something they'll have to deal with. Often, the fatigue factor will lead to physical and mental errors, that could lead to better scoring chances. Owning that real estate in front of Simpson will be key to their success, and I believe they do have the personnel to do it.

Before play commenced, the ice crew were out scraping up blood off the ice. If and when officials check for blood, that is often the determining criteria between a minor/major penalty.
Nah I was sitting right there. There was no blood on the ice. Just a pile of snow.

Truth be told, it *might* have been 2 for elbowing, but generally a pretty good hit by Beck.

Refs overreacted a lot last night. Both teams suffered but also benefitted.

For a guy who had a shutout in game 1, Bowen looked really nervous. I did like the fact that he kept coming out of his net to play the puck even after the miscue resulting in the PBO goal. But his nerves will be an issue, imo. Knights D will really need to be tight - which they 100% can do.

Knights already in Peterborough

Good. Get a couple of practises on their ice. Learn the boards, figure out angles and how to deal with the extra ice in the corners.

Games 3 to 7 televised on TSN? Thought I heard something about that.

Go Knights Go!!!

Knocked out his mouth guard wow
The 5 min for incidental head contact could have been made more fair with 2 min embellishment and either 2 min for equipment violation or the 5 min rest the league was handing out mid-season

There was blood from the mouth of Othman from a stick that got him on the chest.
Too much embellishing going on imo.

Anyone know how Bowen does in Math class? Could be the key to the series!

All Petes goalies are assigned a math tutor as soon as they arrive in Peterborough to help them adjust to the boards at the PMC.

Dale may want to pick up a team set of protractors for the Knights just to be safe.

I know calls will get blown either way. It's a fast game. When officials take it upon themselves to become a factor in the momentum swings of a game ...that's when I have a problem

Math class isn't necessary. One can learn the incidence of reflection/refraction angles on a pool table. Any half decent pool player can teach this on a billiard table, and when presented this way, teenage players relate quite easily.;)
