Will London go for the big skillful impact power forward in the first round to play with Cowan and Barkey?

For the first time in many years London may not pick the best available player at #18. Looking at their roster they are badly in need of a big power forward, big strong skillful and mean ready to make the lineup. They need someone out there that can play with the skillful smaller forwards they have, at the moment they have McCue(6'-1" 183lb) and Winterton(6'-2" at 190lb) they both have the size one is mean the other has skill but don't exactly qualify as the big mean and powerful skill forward and both are likely to move on, they'll need someone to play with Barkey-Cowan-Levin-O'Reilly-Nicholl etc. The Matthew Tkachuk kind with more control on his discipline.

They have Julien at 6'-3" at 170lb, he's big and skillful enough if he adds 10-15 pound more to his frame but will he be mean enough. Could they find that player through trades, they'll need someone big with lots of skill ready to play and to help out the powerplays. IMHO

Lev Katzin of the Toronto Marlboros, and take a flyer on William Moore in the later rounds.
Would it shock anyone if the Knights took Moore in the first round and he reported?
He is a highly ranked prospect, so if they can get him late in the first round and he reports it's an absolute steal, wouldn't surprise me at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt lev commit to play in the US?
Seems like he is committed to the USHL, Green Bay Gamblers for 23/24.

Do you (or others) know if signing a tender with a USHL team could be used to provide an option to the player. For instance, if a player does not get drafted to his "team of choice" in the O, he might prefer instead to play in the USHL, and if he does get drafted by his "team of choice", he could just bale on his USHL tendered commitment? Is that a possibility or have I misunderstood the meaning of "tender". I ask because Lev signed a tender with Green Bay (USHL) on March 1, 2023.

Denver gets a beauty Short Handed Goal!!

If ever there was a goal that broke a team, it's this Barkey goal. Kitchener was not the same after this goal.

Some listed so many songs to play after a London goal, if it was my choosing I would replay a recorded version of Mike Stubb "He Score....." . He's the best in sport broadcasting, for every Knights game I turn the the radio on and watch the game on silent tv with delays and all, just to hear Mike say these words it's well worth it.

My understanding is a Tendered Commitment signing is not binding to other league commitments, it's only valid to the team of the league he's signed to, meaning he can not go to any other team in that particular league. Lev is however open to go to any other league teams.

The Knights won’t use a first round pick on William Moore unless there is a high chance he come and reports (ex Max Jones). Knights tend to use 1st round picks on high percentage OHL committed players. So it wouldn’t surprise me either if they tried to pick up Lev Katzin in the second round and then pick up William Moore with their 5th round pick.

As stated, Lev Katzin signed a tender with Green Bay but is still eligible to commit to the OHL.

So I got Luca Testa right last year (still hope he turns out alright). With that being said and taking my own advice I want them to take Lev Katzin, but I do think they take Aiden Young if he’s still there.

If we could get Katzin to commit Id be good with it.

Forget about Moore, too many teams who are convinced they are league elite have their designs on him.

It would surprise me, because the Knights do not have a fifth pick

Played it cool in game 5 waited for our chances. Federkow to McCue was great goal. Brochu in game 4 was our leader in Game 5 the defence took over. Game 1 will be very big for the Sarnia series...looking forward to it.

Nope, the measuring stick for success has changed once again and factors, talked about by hockey people support they are the best ( in a small minority to be fair )

They have made it further than London in the OHL POs once in what....11 or 12 years? And it was a weak West year.
But have finished ahead of London in 2 reg. Season finishes in the same time frame.
Those Goalposts gotta be in Ann Arbour MI by now

The thing that impressed me most in this past series was not the "payback" angle or winning in 5 after they owned Windsor but the focus, commitment and implementing the game plan. They got the warning in game 4 and put together 2 lockdown games (SOs) very impressive response.

Ann Arbour? I'm thinking Melbourne Australia.

Went into the Armory to pick up my 3rd round tickets . I'd only bought rounds 1 & 2, guessing that winning game 1 of round 2 would surpass their accomplishment of last season. Gotta admit, I've been most pleasantly surprised with how well this team has performed, especially so on defense.

Next round is going to be quite a challenge as the Sting have been built for the playoffs. That said however, the Knights did manage to win that pseudo 402 trophy, this past season. I am expecting some very close games, and that situation tends to favor the Knights. They've proved to be extremely adept at winning games that were decided by single goal margins. They've also established a PK that is always a threat to score short-handed.

Two things: Team speed & Team discipline will be absolutely necessary for them to get wins in this series. So far, they've proven that they can roll with both, as the Attack & Rangers can attest to.

Best of luck, but good teams usually are more reliant on executing their game plan, and luck will follow.

Sarnia is a serious threat I actually think they have more upside than the Knights. They have Voit, Pastujov, DelBelBelluz, Burke, Kyrou and Del Mastro, Gaudreau.

They got the stars. we have the system that can employ all four lines.

I’m just not sure if this is the 2003-2004 London Knights team that fell short, or is this the 2011-2012 London Knights team that it was supposed to be the next year (2013) was their year.

Sarnia player I'm most worried about imposing their will and controlling the game. DelMastro. 2nd would be their solid tender.
Yup they have skill up front, a D or 2 that play a heavy game, an offensive D I'm familiar with but DM will probly play 30 min a game and can take a game over in all 3 zones.

I think we're definitely the underdog despite playing that brand of hockey of late that we were known for throughout the season prior to that lengthy and atrocious road trip.
If Gaudreau, Burke, and Del Mastro were out of the lineup, then I'd like our chances. Lol!

Congrats on the series win London. Very impressive systems. Barkey is a stud. Best team won hands down.

Aside from one london fan, the boards between Kitchener and London was very respectful and I love that. We're the two classes of the OHL and I have nothing but respect for the team in green and its fans.

Otto- I did say I'd donate $5 for each goal, I didn't expect back to back shutouts. lol. I'll donate $50. Again really glad you're still with us.

Cheers London.

I am kind of hopping on the Sting Bandwagon. I am a sucker for hockey romantics. But wouldn't surprise me if London at the end of the day is boarding a flight to BC.

So does Mark get Mitch Marner to tell him to come to London?? Last player to idolize Marner in terms of play style was Antonio Stranges, and then he dropped his Michigan (verbal) commitment almost the next day lol….

Reporter asks, “so what can fans expect out of you in terms of play style??

Katzin: If you can imagine a Mitch Marner and Brad Marchand mixture….
