Dickinson could be a good captain. Loved the emotion he showed after the loss. That kid was fully bawling. Losing is hard and motivates these kids to win next year. He will come back bigger, better and stronger.

Not sure that would be my choice ( they never contact me on these things) but I would have been in the Dickenson camp on this one. Carry on.

Both are definitely worthy....plus, I think I'd have to include Cowboy in there as well! I don't think anybody surprised me as much as he did this season!

...and with that work ethic, I wouldn't be surprised to see the twins share captaincy next season. I think you'll see both in the top 10 in scoring next season.

George could also be considered, but he would be more of a quiet, lead-by-example type.

...and then there's McCue. Up until the playoffs began, he wouldn't have even been in the running for me; however, I feel like he really matured over the course of the playoffs and played like a true leader, setting the tone physically while remaining disciplined, being used in crucial faceoffs, and he's always been a vocal presence!

Dickinson will be the captain eventually, I just feel like that's a little too much pressure for a 17-year-old at this stage.

Is Humphrey going to be OA next year? I thought he had one more season left or was that it?

Humphrey would be an OA next year

I still believe E-Mac is one of the front runners for the C next year.
I will say, he really stepped up in the playoffs and played well. He was also seen at times being a vocal leader.

However, the D core is stacked and if an upgrade could be made at forward for a stud OA goal scorer. I could see him being expendable. No intel, just speculation on my part.

Agreed......looking at the OA situation....

Mailloux & Winterton - both likely AHL bound
Federkow - would go thru a brick wall for his team, but I believe he is the odd man out :(

MacKinnon - solid D, but could be expendible depending on Fagan's progression
McCue - showed strong leadership qualities in the post-season, should stick
Humphrey - like his game, but not disciplined enough to be captaincy material IMO

Our 16 yr old D (possibly) a better rookie than our 17 yr old rookie D-man who is about to be a 1st rd pick in the NHL draft... We're spoiled!

Absolutely. There are years where the drafting isn't great ( really is a crap shoot to a point...) but other years it is. But LK management finds ways to fill the gaps thru trades most years and add players who develop into top notch NHL prospects.
I love the aggressiveness in grabbing players like Domi, Mete, Dickinson as youngins, .....whoever thru trades ( made possible by accumulating assets they can move for picks, no one does it better over the long haul than the Hunters......when ya never bottom out to draft high they find ways thru asset management to add big time talent )
Used to be trading up in the Euro draft....can't now so they pivot, don't draft high....find players who won't report, have a middle pack year, sell off off a Thomas for a McMichael....
Pivot, be flexible and adjust........just keep the ball rolling.

Have to trust Dale900 and company. Most OHL championships in the 21st C with 4...and 23 years not a small sample size.

Longtime London Knights governor Trevor Whiffen is stepping up to help a former London Knight flee violence in his native Ukraine, putting up the former defencemen and his family at his home in Oakville as they rebuild in Ontario.

Did you know he could reach this level? … currently he’s a top 5 player
I wouldn't have guessed he could play at his current level. He played well in Calgary but since the trade he has stepped it up to another level. I always enjoyed his Dad's game and thought to some degree Keith was a little under appreciated at times. His brother Brady actually probably has more refined skills but so far has not shown the drive and determination that Matt does. Brady would have been well served to follow Matthew to London for a season at the "Hunter NHL Prep School" imo?
