Nicholl will be in your top 9, if not top 6 by mid-season. Don’t sleep in him.
We saw it with Cowan and Bonk last season. Dominated in GOJHL as 16 year olds and immediately hit the ground running as impactful OHL rookies.

Mailloux did the same thing (Although his rookie year was delayed by Covid).

Both O’Reilly and Nicholl tore up the GOJHL and appear to be on the same path. It is not unreasonable to assume atleast one (possibly both) could be very impactful right away next season.

Fair enough everyone. Just thinking out loud about which teams may be looking for a rebuild. I think the Knights are looking strong these next two years.
owen sound may be the best team in the west next year, why would they be rebuilding?

Been that way for a long time.
As far back as Jason Spezza and that’s before the exceptional status rule came in.

The rule states you have to have played 4 seasons in CHL.
Which means some exceptional players would be able to play in the AHL at age 19. But Wright doesn’t qualify.

This article says you have to play atleast 25 games per season. So by rule Wright only played 3 seasons in the OHL. Last year didn’t count, missed by one game.

Not that any of this is particularly relevant to the Knights. But it is interesting.

Thank you! Very interesting. That makes sense for him to play there. He likely would learn more and it would be better for his development

I think he adds more value to the team then probably many realize. Just gets done what needs to be done..
Thanks BW58 n SB. Kid deserves some props.
A glue type player that would throw his face in front of a moving train.
Very easy to see and like his contributions to a squad as a depth player. And versatility is never a bad thing with your depth players.
