Very unlikely Minnetian comes. Pretty sure his sister goes to BC and the Stars probably want the extra year or two before pro that college offers.
All of this. And Minnetian is also a right shot D. Dickinson and Bonk are both right shot D. So no guarantees he would get much Ice in London next year.

Hopefully we grab a nice offensive talent today in the Import draft.

First off, Dickinson is not a RHD.

Secondly, I spoke to Aram personally about joining the Knights and he said, “They have a great program” and “Yeah they r a great team. We will see. Thanks”.

I want Konsta Helenius, Emil Hemming or Alexander Zetterberg for the Import Draft

Forget that, no swedes have even been drafted yet, so I will drop that hope of drafting Zetterberg lol!

Michael Brandsegg-Nygard is still on the board! Draft him if we can’t get Helenius.

Daniil Uskinkov! Very sneaky pick as I thought he was Russian but I guess he’s a duel Swiss and Russian. He’s a potential late NHL first round pick in 2024. Well done Mark!

We are losing Mailloux and we are gonna be losing Isaiah George after this year so that totally makes sense! Get him to come over next year!

Knights picked 16 year old Defenseman Daniil Ustinkov From Switzerland.

Looks like a ‘future’ type pick. So they may think they can get Halttunen.
There's a HB's thread discussing him, pretty much in glowing terms. E.g. In his age group (2006), 'easily the best Swiss d-man', and GermanSpitfire seemed impressed with his game albeit in limited viewings. A few posters suggest that he's likely NA-bound so you never know, he could be here in September.

I love the pick up by Mark, if he come this year he should start on the third pairing to get his feet wet. Should be a top pairing in two years.

Think of what we traded to get Dickinson and that is kind of the value we could be looking at.

If Halttunen shows then we get Ustinkov next year. Solid plan.

I’d even consider trading Gazizov if possible to help him develop. He has the offensive instincts of a first line player but he needs to develop a better overall game to fit the Knights system. It would also help him develop more and get better ice time. Similar idea to us trading Stuart Rolofs.

If Ustinkov comes we are looking at a continual gold mine back there.

Dickinson-Ustinov could be a deadly pairing for 2-3 seasons

I think Gaz will be a solid top six for us this year. He was often our hungriest knight, and he has shown the skills. I would never trade him.

They are both LD so unlikely

Okay so the core 4 could be great with those two anchoring it 😁

I think Mailloux is gone next season, but thinking they only picked Ustinkov if there was a high chance he joins. If he does our D is something like this:

Dickinson-Bonk
Ustinkov-George (I know both lefties)
Edward-Leonard
Fagen

(Trade Federkow and Mackinnon and get OAs up front )

Is this the year George takes the next step?

What do you expect from Landon Sim? PPG? How about McCue?

Defensively, George is already pretty solid. I would like to see him take a bit more of a step offensively, because I think he has the skills to do so. He keeps the puck on a string and with the right situations, I think he could be a solid point producer, probably will never be a big goal guy, but I could see him being a 40ish point guy next year, 10 or so goals with 30 or more assists.

I love Sim's tenacity and I think he could be a 20 power play goal guy, if they parked him in front of the net, Danny Bois style. With some guys graduating, he may get a bit more PP time next year. But other then that, I think Sim's role will be a 3rd/4th line checker who plays a responsible defensive game and kills penalties.

McCue, I am thinking he could have a good year. He played really well at the start of the playoffs, but did tail off a little bit. I would hope, if he is taking an OA spot, he can come in and be a 60-70 point guy next year. That is a big jump from his previous career highs, but if he isn't performing at that level, you may have to move on from him. As it sits, the Knights don't have a ton of offense again, the top 2 scorers from regular season last year are gone, so if he isn't producing offensively, you need to fill that OA spot with someone who will. Or have him play the checking role and replace Humphrey's OA spot, if Humphrey isn't producing.

I agree… they must know something about Halttunnen? Is he coming? If not the Ustinkov pick (while a nice pick) is not with this years intentions …. I expect the twins to carry the offence

Fun guys

Ok. Who woke him up? 😁

Who do YOU think the OAs will be ? I’m now thinking we keep McCue, Humphrey and Mackinnon (as Mr Ustinkov appears to be under contract)

Hadn't really given it much thought. Those three sound about right unless Mark brings in some heavy hitters.

I figured the Swiss Gaurd will be here next year, Moore as well. Hultanen is a crap shoot.

Excellent catch Nelli!!
It was fun watching Cowan and Barkey get stronger and more confident
as the Knights went deeper into the Play-Offs.
That Article:
As Grimard explained, Cowan brings so much more to the game than his skill level and size shouldn’t be the focus when talking about the the Knights’ forward.

“It’s easy to look at those metrics and assume that he doesn’t go into the corners and that he’s not physical and that he doesn’t battle. And all you have to do is watch. All he does, he’s the energy bug. He was on a line with Ryan Winterton, who is a draft pick of the Seattle Kraken, and Denver Barkey and they made up the Twinterton Line. It was the best line in the OHL playoffs and he was the guy that was getting the pucks. He was retrieving it. He was battling. He was throwing his body around. He was driving to the front of the net. All I can say is a guy like that, he missed Game 3 of the OHL Final with an illness — him and [Denver] Barkey — and they were sorely missed and they ended up losing that game. He ended up returning for Game 4 and all he did a minute and thirty second in was open the scoring by hustling in on the forecheck, beating the defender to the puck, outmuscling him, driving to the front of the net and scoring. If those aren’t intangibles that you want in a first-round pick or in general, I don’t know what is. I think he has every element to be a regular NHLer.”
