LK should be aware of SJS plans for Halttunen and also his desires. Unless they feel they have a legit sure fire signing of higher potential I say you pass the pick n trust their word on wether he is showing up come fall. If they are wishy washy you take the pick.
If not and they burn the pick no biggie.

Yep - agreed. I just wish we can move on from Ruslan Gazizov. But even Gazizov is good and he has some of the best vision and playmaking on the team. It’s just he fluctuates being a top 6 forward to a 3rd line forward with a lack of overall game.

Cuz I really want the Knights to draft fellow Finland countrymen Konsta Helenius. He’s is a crafty as Mitch Marner.

“Each CHL team is allotted two import picks, so the draft is only two rounds. CHL teams are only allowed two import players on their rosters, though there is a separate “frozen list” for imports taken in the first round of the NHL draft. Clubs can only dress a maximum of two imports per game.

If an import on a frozen list is returned to a CHL club that already has two imports, that team has a small window (like two weeks) in which to move an import.”

This is why I really wanted Halttunen to be drafted in the 1st round of the NHL Draft. Makes it a harder decision now….
Halttunen is on the Special Import List, not the NHL Reserve List. Not sure what the rules are there but that’s how it is. So they’re keeping Halttunen’s rights and still making a pick.

Unfortunately Konsta Helenius is also under SM liiga contract with Mikkelin Jukurit.
Helenius played last season ( 2022-2023 ) 33 SM liiga games in Jukurit and got
good minutes in scoring related role Olli Jokinen is head coach of Jukurit
SM liiga team and he's done good job with Helenius.

Helenius is supposed to be TOP6 / TOP9
player in Jukurit's SM liiga team this coming season ( 2023-2024 )

Logan Mailloux wasn’t made available to media today at Canadiens development camp. #Habs said decision was made with NHL that he won’t do interviews until after having a meeting with NHL, which still needs to rule on his eligibility to play in league #HabsIO
I understand all the details about Mr Mailloux and his amateur photography interests. But why exactly is he ineligible to play in the NHL? What did the NHL give as the reason for his exclusion? Please don't reply with all the rhetoric about what a terrible human being and sexual predator he is thats been debated to great lengths already. Cheers ....

To my understanding, when he was suspended at the start of his issue, by the OHL. The NHL also suspended him indefinitely. He has never had to ask to be reinstated, because he has been in Jr. The NHL has said, he will have a hearing about his reinstatement, once he is ready to join the league.

James Hagens, C (USNTDP)

It was ridiculous just how good Hagens was with the USNTDP this year. He had 85 points alongside Cole Eiserman all year, including a record-breaking 21 points at the U-17 World Hockey Challenge. An incredible setup man, Hagens is an underrated shooter that can drive the net, generate scoring chances and use speed to his advantage. It’s worth noting that he’s uncommitted to NCAA, but the London Knights own his rights – could we see a trip up north ahead of the 2025 draft?

William Moore, C (USNTDP)

Set to embark on a run with the USNTDP, Moore – who also was a standout on that same Senators team as Misa and Spence – is ready for the big show. The London Knights draft pick had two points per game through 30 GTHL games with the Marlboros this season and is expected to play a big role with the US program this season. He’s big, physical and has excellent hockey IQ.

I listened to a Habs podcast this morning. They said that Mailloux was a man amongst boys at the development camp.

The NHL came down with the ineligibilty at a time that the Internet was losing its mind over such episodes. Call it appearance, call it what you want, the league went the way of caution. He will eventually play i the NHL, but there will be more penance and appeasance to come.

Logan wnt be back in a Knights uniform, mores the pity for us fans.

Suspension makes no sense. This happened before he had anything to do with the NHL. It was also widely public knowledge before he was drafted/invited into the league.

It would be like committing a crime. Then an employer reaches out and says hey we know about all that stuff, but we will give you a second chance. Come work for us.

You then show up to work and they immediately suspend you for the crime they said they already acknowledges and happened before you even knew the employer.

You think they’ll be able to hold onto Gazizov, hold on to Halttunen’s rights and still make a pick ?

That is not my understanding. But We’ll find out soon enough I guess.

This is according to pyette:
Zach bowen got nine offers to attend development camp ( he ended up attending the oilers)
Brochu got some invites to, but couldn't because his ankle is still not healed.
** Knights brass doesn't know if they will pick a player that will come soon or might come later as they don't know what halttunen's / san Jose's plan is

Anyone hear anything more regarding import situation? How about Hagens, Moore and Nazar?

Just an educated guess but I'll go with no, no, no for all 3 this year.
Moore I have hope for next year and have since pre draft but who knows...things change, the other 2....no idea but I'm not counting on it. I'd give Hagens the better % of showing up at some point if forced to bet.
Hope I'm wrong

Not think. I know that Gazizov is still on the regular list while Halttunen is on the special import list.
